Loved the bedroom concept of this room for our family of 5 in a 3 queen room. Breakfast was pretty sparse. Pool was ok.

We stayed a full week here and have no complaints. The ac worked great, the beds were comfy. We could get fresh towels whenever we needed and the staff was very friendly. Breakfast was always fully stocked and warm. The pool and hot tub were perfect temps and our kids had a blast.

This hotel was awesome. We reserved a room for 5 and it had two queen beds, then a separate room with another queen. It was so nice to be able to have one room cold and the other warm. The pool was warmed, but you did need to get a separate pool key from the front desk. The hot tub was hot! It was perfect for getting energy out in kids after a long drive.
Breakfast was great. They had eggs, cheese, tortillas and salsa to make little breakfast burritos. Plus the regular continental breakfast items like yogurt, cereal, waffles, today.
The ppl we interacted with at the front desk were very nice and the location was perfect. Very close to Custer state park.

Friendly property; rooms are decent for a Super 8. Lots of parking. Breakfast was ok although room was a bit crammed with the number of families there. Wifi was kind of shaky. Very helpful front desk staff and manager. Not very walkable to restaurants, town.

Check in was extremely pleasant. It took us less than 5 minutes. The room was very clean. I booked a double, the room was huge! It gets a bit nosy in which you can hear footsteps, dogs barking, baby crying, etc. I’m a deep sleeper so that didn’t bother me. If you’re ever in the area to Mount Rushmore then this is it. A hotel right next to holiday inn and a few other hotels but at a more reasonable price that offers the same quality. Free parking and about 30 mins drive to Mount Rushmore. About three or four blocks to the little town with all the shops and restaurants.

Staff was very nice but…. Hotel could use some major updating and the breakfast choices were very limited. Pool was way too warm and there wasn’t enough hot water for showers in the morning. We were informed at checkin that the room we had booked (with 3 beds) wasn’t available and instead we’d been given 2 separate rooms with 2 beds in each. This wasn’t ideal for our family of 2 adults and 3 kids but we made it work. Will stay somewhere else next time.

We specifically picked this hotel to get 3 queen size beds. I was expecting all beds in a row like regular hotels. But I was pleasantly surprised when it was a suite with 2 queens in the family area, and a separate room with another queen. There were LOTS of shelves in closets. Unfortunately the air conditioner didn’t cool as much as we like. The breakfast was sad, with powdered eggs almost every day. There is no elevator. The part that upset me the most was that in the “transition wood” from family room to kitchen - there were 4 nails sticking straight up! I ended up putting a towel over it for the trip so no one would get hurt and tried to make the most of it. Overall the hotel met our needs and was cheap.

The one bedroom suite (two queen beds) at Super 8 Custer was roomy, clean, and a great fit for our family of four. We didn’t see an elevator in the building, so keep that in mind when booking. The included breakfast was a bit lacking, but got us started for the day. I would not book this hotel specifically for the included breakfast, but I would book again for the space provided by the one bedroom suite (two queen beds).

We recently stayed three nights as a family, and probably would not book again unless there were no other choice.
The good: proximity to Custer and other area attractions. A/C worked well, as did the hot water. Room was reasonably modern and comfortable. Bathroom was pretty dated.
To improve: The pool was pretty frigid, on top of which, the ceiling fans were all going, making it colder still. The hot tub was down for half our stay. These things are at the top of my list for why I book a property. The breakfast was unsatisfactory, not even minimally passable. Customer service and tone could have been better.
For the money we paid, I expected better. At most other places, we get better. Could be a Super 8 thing, could be a Wyndham thing. In either case, we're probably done with both brands.
