Candlewood Suites Charleston Mt Pleasant, an IHG Hotel

Great family stay in 3 bedroom unit!

This property was great for our family of 5 and the option of two bedrooms. Great to be able to cook in the suite, walk to restaurants and nearby park. Great location to drive to the beach or stores close by. Only downfall was no pool for when we didn’t want to drive back to the beach, but they said Candlewood is getting rid of all pools on properties. Overall; we would stay again!

Parking was an issue, especially when the the overflow parking across the street was already full. On 1st entry the room appeared well kept and recently refurbished. But poor design and wasted space made for problems. You had to get on your hands and knees to operate the microwave instead of having it at counter height. The new unique faucet was hard to control because it pulled out to the right rather than up & down, and you could not see it in front of you because of a misplaced shelf. The only way to watch TV was from bed. Bringing over the only chair in the room from the desk (the chair was the only piece of worn out furniture) made for uncomfortable sitting next to the bed. There was pubic hair on the bathroom ceiling. I'm sure its still there - go check it out, room 220. The staff were nice. And the price was average for the area. I had been to Mt Pleasant many times because of family. Many places doubled their rates for the festival week, making it hard to find a reasonable priced room. That I am thankful for.
