Great location and pet friendly! I’d stay here again when in the area. I booked through Expedia and didn’t know the hotel was going through renovations but the sounds stopped after arrival. My husband kids and puppy will be back!

The reception area is very shabby and dim. However our junior room is nicely decorated and clean.

Staff was friendly and location was very convenient for exploring historic Charleston, but these were really the only positives of this experience. We chose this property for a family Christmas trip based on a quaint inn experience and ambiance. Upon arrival, we realized the property was undergoing renovation for which we received no advance notification or communication that property amenities were not available or majorly limited. Had we known, we would have chosen a different property. As part of construction, the floors had carpet strips taped down over hardwood & were a tripping hazard. There were tarps hung throughout reception area. The complimentary continental breakfast & social hour had been moved into a very small room that barely fit 3 tables. The pub was closed. Access to the front door was obstructed during the day w construction activity. Parking spaces were reduced due to construction vehicles & pods occupying half of the lot. Hotel room was spacious but very musty. Our room was proactively upgraded. Although appreciated, this did not accommodate for the fact that most of the inn was closed to guests. Nearly all amenities outlined in our confirmation email were unavailable. The hotel manager waived the nightly parking fee of $25, which was kind but insignificant given the situation. The property GM refused to make any adjustment to our room rate, had no interest to address the situation in any meaningful way. Her arrogance regarding the issue was insulting.

From check in to check out the Ansonborough Inn staff were very efficient and very friendly. They answered all our questions pleasantly. The room and the inn were clean. Each of our 3 mornings the hot part of the breakfast we’re different and appetizing. The walk to city market was less than 10 minutes so the inn is convenient to shopping, dining and bars. I would gladly stay here again and will recommend the inn to family and friends.

Spacious room, but wallpaper peeling off walls. Nice shower, nice bed. Could hear small child crying nearby at night. Easy parking, great location for shops, restaurants and the history nearby.

Great stay at this historic and perfectly located hotel! Our family of four was very comfortable in our room and enjoyed the friendly staff and convenient breakfast. Everything is walking distance and the hotel itself has a neat historic boutique vibe and is nestled off of Hasell street which is lined with historic beautiful homes. A plus is there is also a Harris teeter grocery across the way for snacks etc and the historic charleston market is a few minutes walk away too. The best of both worlds! Highly recommend.

This charming, historic property is ideally located just a couple of easy walking blocks from the Market and Downtown Historic Charleston and from the waterfront the other direction. It is comfortable, with extremely helpful and friendly staff, clean and well-maintained facilities, and a wonderful complimentary breakfast. I was most impressed by the level of service, the lovely landscape paintings interspersed everywhere, the hospitality suite open all day with nibbles and drinks for weary travelers, and the adorable way they greeted furry companions. Everyone I encountered had a smile and kind word for us, we were treated like honored family, and it was a pleasant and quiet oasis away from the crazy of downtown. Highly recommend!!

Beautiful property. Walking distance to every must see places en downtown Charleston. The only issue we had is that some people think is a adult only hotel and complained about our kids for being kids, that was upsetting. But at least hotel staff was on our side
