Staff was so thoughtful and caring…traveling with baby pending surgery at CHOP and they went above and beyond to be helpful and caring

While booking my reservation, I was not warned about the breakfast option as not available due to the holidays. We as a family had to starve for the 2 days of stay for our breakfast. If hotels take vacations then we need not.

Stayed here for Drexel Family Weekend. Loved the very early coffee service and available oat milk. Courteous staff and accommodating with early check in, late check out and larger room. Nice that The Study also had a nice Hor'd Erves hour for Drexel families.

We had a great experience staying at The Study. We were in Philadelphia for one night for a concert, and we booked a king room. We were, unfortunately, put in a room next to a family with a very unhappy and loud infant. The concierge staff were very accommodating and allowed us to switch rooms, and because there were no other open king rooms, upgraded us to a suite. The hotel itself is beautiful and clean, and the location made it easy to get around the city. Highly recommend.

The Study is a clean, sleek, and stylish hotel. The staff was friendly and informative. I would have liked it to be more clear that the parking was an additional $63 fee. Though it was very convenient - we mistakenly booked seeing that parking was available at this property. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was perfect for our quick 1 night visit to see family nearby. The makeup mirror in our bathroom was broken, but otherwise the room was excellent.

We picked The Study because it's next to UPenn. In addition, it's also very close to the 30th street Train Station. The area is safe and quiet at night. Grocery stores like Giant and Wawa (opens 24 hours) are close by.
The hotel is well designed to match the UPenn/Drexel atmosphere. Front desk was really nice to give us detailed parking and train information. Room was really clean. All facilities were in excellent condition.
One issue for us was that the two double beds were too small for the family of four. In addition, there was no refrigerator in the room. Other than those, an excellent stay.

The "Living Room" (lobby) of the study is lovely. We enjoyed spending time in the living room one evening after dinner - playing games as a family.
The staff was outstanding - every one of them. The front desk employee was so friendly and helpful. Each evening, someone was eager and willing to get me tea. And as we left today, the valet was very helpful in loading our bags into the car.
Overall, it was a great stay. I would highly recommend The Study.

This hotel is conveniently located to transportation, dining options, shopping... It's near a few universities so there are students mulling around the area and the hotel is family friendly. The lobby is spacious and bright and the concierge was wonderful. It was very easy to check-in. The food from Coop restaurant was a bit pricey but good. I was traveling with my husband and 15 yr. old son. We reserved a double room. The room was just as pictured online. It was very clean and bright. The amenities were minimal but it was perfect for us because we were only staying a few days. We could have requested a refrigerator or microwave but opted not to. The gentleman that helped us with our luggage and car was amazing and super helpful. The only complaint I have is that there was a housecleaning station across from our room and they were pretty loud, having full conversations outside our door and in the hall, laughing, slamming doors.. At first I thought the noise was from other guests but then I realized it was housecleaning because it continued for over an hour and I could hear them knocking on doors. We had a late night and wanted to sleep in a bit but it was just too noisy. Outside of that, our stay was perfect and I would absolutely reserve a room here again. It was one of the more affordable and decent places (based on the reviews) I saw online. It's a really cute property, clean, and well maintained.

In writing this review, note that I am taking into consideration the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing and, as a result, there are constraints that prevent hotels from performing at their best. Even so, the performance of The Study - relative to other hotels I've stayed at during the course of this pandemic - has been a total disappointment.
This was the furthest thing from a "4-star hotel" experience. I'm not giving this the lowest possible rating only because at least the front desk staff were polite and friendly. However, management was poor and the facilities were subpar.
Rooms only had plastic cups, which made consuming hot beverages impossible (...unless you wanted to be drinking melted plastic). The bathroom sink was slow to drain. The bed covers looked and felt like rugs. Most importantly, despite knowing when we were checking out, there was nobody present (even upon request) to help us move our luggage.
Note that we actually made a request to change rooms after our first night and understood that because headcount was likely reduced because of the pandemic, we were OK with moving things ourselves. But management didn't even think of making sure something like this wouldn't happen again later in our stay. The hotel clearly knew what day and time we would be checking out yet had no one ready to help us move our things on check-out day.
After 5 nights, my family and I decided to move to The Inn at Penn and couldn't have been happier with the decision.
