Courtyard Philadelphia South at The Navy Yard

This hotel was the perfect place for our family. We came to Philly to see a Phillies game and this hotel was perfect for us. The convenience of the restaurant was perfect for getting quick easy meals. The room was also nice and spacious. The beds were a little on the more firm side but I ordered extra pillows and blankets and that helped alot. They put us at the very end of the hall which was great so we would not bother anyone. The area felt very safe and also close to the stadiums. The area was also nice to do some night strolling around and check out the cool Navy ships. My kids loved seeing those massive ships docked. There was also a small basketball court near by that my boys enjoyed. We had to pay for parking, but you have to pay for parking everywhere. The parking lot felt very safe as well considering we were not familiar with the area. But this area was nice and tucked back, almost hidden, from the rest of the city. We plan on coming back in September and this will be the place we book at for that stay.

We arrived early during there and needed to store some food (chilled) for a family reunion the following day. Staff was wonderful in allowing early check-in resolving our issue.

This hotel is a hidden gem, I almost hate writing this review because I want no one to know about this place so it is mine forever! It is modern, clean, and welcoming when you walk in, check in was quick and painless, there are only 3 valet carts for your luggage, so we had to carry our bags up, but that was OK. The room was clean, spacious, and as expected from the photos. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also roomy, and the shower was incredible. Very spacious, awesome shower head, nice complimentary products. Only 2 complaints... We used the app to request additional pillows and towels, it took about 90 minutes for them to arrive. Probably would have come quicker if we called, but the emails pre-arrival were really pushing the app so we thought that was the way to do things. Next time would use the phone. Second complaint - the restaurant on site is not a seated service with waiters - you order at the counter and they bring it out to you. The Starbucks is not a full Starbucks, its at the same counter, its Starbucks coffee and 2 or 3 pastries. The food is good, but it is pricey. Two adults and 2 small kids - $70 for breakfast. But the food was really good, and a hot breakfast, that filled us up that we skipped lunch so weigh the pros and cons there. I will always stay here if they have availability when we come into town. This place was great!
