My Place Hotel-Portland East, OR

I was actually surprised by how nice the rooms were, and how close to the I84 it was...15-20 min from pretty much where you wanted to go...The staff was more than accommodating when our lock to our room failed...a couple of things i think needs improvement...having to take your towels down to the front desk was abit challenging and not really ADA helpful...we ran out of body wash...and had to request coffee in our room everyday, and we had a family of ants that kept visiting our room...the firepit was a bonus however...

Well, the room was dirty/ not ready, when we arrived after 5: toilet was not flushed, tv was on, window was open on as if someone broke in ( we were on the first floor)TV was on and pen on my bed, coffee machine produced stained water. I called to confirm if the room was actually for us, was told that was only one available. Front desk was nice but she seemed over worked. Strangers wondered in parking lot… not particularly good for family

I suspected that the reviews (esp those on Google) are fake. I was expecting a squeaky clean, new and family friendly hotel based on the reviews. 1st, the checkin lady was cold and unfriendly. When asked about any drinking water available, there was none and I had to buy bottle water while I later on found out that they had a membership program that offer complimentary bottled water, which she could have suggested. When I got up to my floor (4pm on a Saturday), I immediately noticed a weird vibe seeing some single men in their pajama pants walking up and down the hallway knocking on each other's doors. There's later on some piles of trash dumped outside of some rooms. I got into my room with my dog and noticed the room's not as clean as described in those reviews. There's dirt and debris on the floor and my dog was sniffing excessively everywhere in the room - we stayed in many hotels with my dog and this is absolutely not normal. I was worried about what he's sniffing in the room that I had to keep him either in his kennel or in the bed with us the whole time. When I took my dog to potty before bedtime. I ran into a group of single men smoking weed outside of the hotel. There's cigarette buds everywhere on the hotel ground that I felt very unsafe for my dog as he tends to pick up anything from the ground. There were men in the parking lot in their car or walking up to someone else's car, that I could not stop thinking that some drug deals' going on. Stay at your own risk

Jenny was the associate that helped us check-in. Dogged tired and refused entry to the Extended Stay America Hotel next door, Jenny was kind, compassionate, and savvy. She knew providing excellent service would have our family sold on My Place Hotel for life. Thank you, Jenny!!

Staff was nice but at the time I checked in there were guests fighting and kids starting a fire outside and cops were called. The room was nice, not as clean as I had hoped.

Everything was good. Decent place to stay with kids for a quick stay. One of the pillows was dirty. And the check-in and check-out process was a little slower. But I think that might have been because of the guests.
