Hilton Garden Inn Toledo Downtown

The hotel itself it’s nice, it has a great location, rooms are clean and beds are comfortable, I booked 2 bedrooms, they put me in floor 9 and my kids floor 10, when I got to the room the assigned me, the key didn’t work, went back to the lobby, the fixed the key issue, went back to the room, opened the door to a man and his family inside the room, needless to say this man freaked out and kicked me out of the room immediately, went back to the lobby, they assign me to a different floor, still on a different floor (8) than my kids, without the possibility to cancel ended up using only one room to be able to keep my whole family together.

My reservation was missing and when we arrived the power had gone out in the hotel causing a lot of stress for staff. Hilary at the front desk was excellent dealing with all of the chaos and helping me find my reservation. We were finally able to get a room but unfortunately it was only a King bed so myself and my two children had to all sleep in the same bed. Only one elevator was working and when we got to our room there was only power on the right side of the room so we only had one source of light. Breakfast was delicious but our poor waitress Cindy was the only person working and it was very busy. Valet was good and convenient. Overall we would probably stay again but this stay was definitely not what I wanted for this quick family trip

Walls very thin. Up all night listening to child scream while the dad yelled. Horrible

The hotel was very clean and comfortable. We had a nice stay and would return. There was a continental breakfast in the hotel restaurant that felt overpriced, for what my family would have eaten from it. If you are big breakfast eaters it would work for you. The staff were kind and helpful.

The hotel was great. We were there for an event and it was nice to not need to leave the hotel in the cold to get to the event center or the Huntington center. Silly thing, but I really enjoyed that there was liquid soap for the bathrooms, this is so much easier when traveling with kids. Negatives: only 2 of the elevators seemed to be working and with the amount of people in the hotel it took a long time. -no breakfast was listed on hotels.com or the hotel’s website. However and check in we were told there was breakfast. There was no mention that it was $10 for the most BASIC of basic cold continental breakfast. If you wanted a hot breakfast (which was decent) it was $13+ As I said, the food was good but the lack of communication was annoying. I would definitely stay again if I was in the area for an event.
