Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Wilmington-University Ctr, an IHG Hotel

The hotel was fairly clean for the most part but the customer service was absolutely horrible. The red head working the night shift was absolutely the worst human I have had to deal with. Our room description was one king bed and pull out sofa bed. We went to pull out the sofa bed and no bed. The lady goes well whoever checked you in should of told you. She was the lady who checked my husband in and said absolutely nothing!! Nothing was done about it we just had to deal with it apparently. The lady lacked customer service. Not only did she get rude with me. My 15 year old went to ask for more towels and she was rude to my daughter! A freaking kid!!! Thank God it was only one night and we made due. Not to mention we were there with a group and they all encountered the same horrible service. Needless to say we won’t be using this hotel ever again.

Hotel had a great location rignt next to a walmart, shopping, fast food. Hotel was clean and kid friendly had board games in the lobby. Let us check in 45min early was a plus. Only bad thing was had to move rooms because we paid for a sofa bed but didnt get one. Bad thing was when it was bed time our sofa bed had no blankets, pillows, sheets, or mattress protector. Called the front desk and was told I had to come and get them from the front desk. Got to front desk and all the had was a fitted sheet and sheet. No pillows, blankets, mattress protector or pillow cases. Then needed to come back dow latet in the evening because there werent enough towels in the room. Overall descent hotel would stay again

Disappointing stay. Attempted to be near college campus but will certainly stay farther away to have a better experience. Only one staff member expected to cover entire building which was impossible for that person to do. No sheets or pillows available in room for pull out couch which required 45 minutes of trying to get some downstairs for family of 4 to go to sleep. Hotel smells throughout rooms and hallways. Water stains on ceiling of room. No darkening shade on window which woke everyone up at sunrise. If Holiday Inn is not going to staff or maintain property properly then they should not continue to operate this location. Cost was overpriced for the level of service and quality of building.

Had a room with a connecting door - we could hear everything they were saying and doing. The children were loud and kept us awake, then their alarm went off at 5:00am! No sleep after that! Especially with all the screaming and shouting! We were given a different room for the second night that was much quieter. We were given a bill for an additional $109.00, although we had paid in full. Reception said to ignore the bill.

We had to cancel our reservation due to an illness in the family. Hope to use your hotel for our next visit of seeing our grandchildren. Thank you

They didn’t have our rooms together. Check in clerk had her kid behind the counter. There was a person sleeping in one of our rooms. The next clerk blamed us for getting food without checking the room.

I like having two televisions in the rooms we rent. We have two teenage children and that is very important in my family.

Too family oriented for a traveler like myself. Calls to my room bc noise had to be bc of the children next to me making so much noise I don't like to be bothered by the staff while I'm staying in a hotel

My family and I stayed here after having gone 3 days without power at our home due to a storm, suffice it to say, any place with running hot water and heat would have been great! That being said, this was our first time staying at a Holiday Inn Express and we were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and comfortable, the hotel itself was neat and clean, and the staff was extremely friendly. We were also surprised about the free breakfast. Not your usual continental breakfast! Eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, muffins. pancakes! It was wonderful!! I would stay here any time we are in Wilmington!!

This was probably the best hotel experience we've had as a family! The hotel was very accommodating. The staff was extremely friendly from the start and they were always kind and considerate. They were especially great in working with our 3-year-old. The room was also just what we expected. The only issue we had was temperature control was tough at times, but that was the only minor problem we had. The breakfast every morning was awesome! Great selection and always replenished with fresh food. The location was also good, as it was easy to get to Wrightsville Beach or hit the bypass to downtown Wilmington or Brunswick County. And again, can't say enough about how good the staff was! We would definitely stay there again the next time in Wilmington.
