Best Western Smoky Mountain Inn

We’ve stayed at the property several times in the past. We have family in the area. I will NEVER stay here again. We were treated very rudely by the desk staff regarding parking our sprinter van. They told us we couldn’t park in the lot and suggested we park 1/2 mile down a steep hill so as not to block other guests. In the meantime, there were several cargo containers blocking multiple parking spaces. We found a way to park, essentially taking two spaces, but the staff said we couldn’t do that. She also suggested we should have called ahead to see if they could accommodate large vehicles. The van is 24 feet long and fits in most spaces with minimal hangover. We tried to leave and get a refund, even involving Expedia customer support to no avail. A very BAD experience!!

This is the third time we've stayed at the Best Western Smoky Mountain Inn in Waynesville while visiting family. The hotel rooms are very clean, large and updated modern. The beds are a little soft, but comfy enough. The front office staff are very personable and helpful. The lobby isn't very big, nor is there a lot of seating for the dining area, but they do offer a continental breakfast with the room stay. The location is okay; it's convenient to a Walmart if needed. Otherwise, there's a little drive into town and other restaurants and shops. It sits atop a hill (or small mountain), and the scenery is pretty. It's not difficult to locate or get to. It tends to be fairly quiet even though it's close to the interstate - especially if you get a room in back and quiet neighbors. I would still bring a white noise maker if you're sensitive to highway, vehicle or neighbor noise. All in all, it's not a super fancy hotel with a zillion amenities, but it's a very nice, clean hotel.

The breakfast was not the greatest. Not much to chose from and the second day we were there the pancake machine was not working. That was the only real hot food that was there. The staff were very nice. It did take the edge off irritation. I also wish that there was an area for our families to sit down and hang out. There wasn't much of an area inside for that. there are plenty of spots outside, but it is November and gets cold at night.

The front desk was very nice, room very clean and comfortable, and grandchildren enjoyed the pool

The staff is very friendly, especially the little lady doing breakfast Saturday morning! My kids loved the pancake maker. Nice little hotel.
