Scarborough Inn

This used to be a superb little family run hotel. Now they have no manager on site. The new management consists of a kiosk where you virtually check in with a person located in the Philippines who dispenses a key from the kiosk. The key card failed three times, and so you went back again and again just to enter the room, identify yourself again, and get another key card. Your basic nightmare in a clean, well located hotel. Get a manager.

Any positive reviews for this "Inn" are fraudulent and likely originate from the same international source that is the "check-in" procedure. There is nothing redeeming about this property and the pictures and reviews are deceptive. For the sake of your family and money, do not be misled like we were. I have limited characters on this review, so I'll focus on the big problems. Cleanliness and smell- the room and inn clearly has a mold issue and you smell it as soon as you open the door to the room. If you have a problem with that, good luck, there is no front desk. Beyond the lack of cleanliness was how dirty both the grounds and the room was with random findings such as wrappers from previous guests which made us wonder if the sheets or towels were laundered. The towels were more like Bounty (you know the good stuff) paper towels, mismatched, just like the hangers and the furniture. I could go on- but bottom line, do not just read the 8.4/10 rating and book. We did. Big mistake. It's clearly fraudulent.
