Courtyard by Marriott Charlotte City Center

Room smelt musky all weekend. Bathroom light in room next door did not work & it wasn’t fixed by end of weekend although front desk was notified (family stayed next door). Handle came off shower on Saturday & water got all over floor so told staff member who was passing by in hall what was going on. He (Alex) said he would have someone stop by to fix it when we were gone & we returned several hours later to find that it had not been fixed. Anthony at front desk had someone come up & fix it and gave us complimentary breakfast for the next morning so they did rectify situation, but it was not handled properly initially.

My friends and I visited Charlotte for the first time as an impromptu getaway… we initially booked this hotel because of the amenities within the hotel.. however upon arrival the pool happened to be closed for our entire stay and the “restaurant/bistro” opened later in the evening… Although we were able to exercise the outside pool area and lounge it still was not fully accessible. The hotel was pretty clean, our room had a strong stench of maybe the previous person and their pet. The beds were comfortable, however our room faced the pool which would have been a great view if it were operational. The windows are completely see through facing the pool if the blinds are not closed, which could be uncomfortable if you forget or are unable to notice. Overall it was a decent stay however I wished it had more amenities based on being an umbrella of The Marriott family and also based on the descriptions and pictures. I would stay again if it were the better of lessor options. Good for a quick stay. 3.8 stars based on pool not being operational during its open season.

The location is the best thing about this hotel, Courtyard City Center. There are tons of restaurants, museums, shops, stadiums in walking distance. The lobby is also nice. However, the room was smelly, chemical smelling. The bathroom had a water damaged ceiling and wallpaper in need of replacement. Beds and pillows were uncomfortable compared to other hotels I’ve been to recently. The pool was closed for maintenance and nothing was offered at all to make up for that despite the fact I had two clearly disappointed kids checking in with me. I recommend staying somewhere else in the area.

In the heart of downtown, Courtyard Marriott offers dining, family and adult activities, and easily assessable transportation.

The front desk was great. The rooms have paper walls. I heard conversations on both sides. The beds are back to back so my headboard shook when the kids next door jumped on their bed. The room next to mine played music so loud at 230 in the morning it woke me up. I probably wont book this location again.
