Hampton Inn Paramus

Overall we had a great stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool was our only negative experience. There was a swim instructor teaching very young children, so lots of screaming/crying. Another day the pool was filled with many chunks of long hair and visible dirt on the bottom

Found out a couple of hours after we checked in there was a kid running around and jumping in the room above us. We waited to request a room change hoping kid would stop. Finally requested change and got it. Manager told us once a guest occupies a room they usually won’t change a room but made an exception this time. We didn’t know about the noise until the people checked in. When we arrived at the Hampton Inn at our next destination, we insisted on a room on the top floor. We will continue to do that in the future.

Excellent service all around. Staff was extremely accommodating including offering to bring things to our room instead of us having to wait a moment or two more in the lobby. Changing the lobby tv to kids shows for my son during a non-busy hour while he and my wife were spending some time outside of the room. Recommend in the highest.

Horrible experience at this Hotel. I was a loyal Hampton Inn fan up till this moment. Will never set foot again here and advise everybody to stay away.Every staff member was great except the check in clerk named Jay. He was rude, insulting and had a nasty attitude. He tried to belittle me from the moment I reached the desk for check in. I have no idea why he was hostile towards me and my group. Maybe it was my skin color or because of my race. We were 2 families on 1 reservation and he purposely split us on separate floors at opposite ends telling me that "buddy the hotel is full and that these are the only 2 rooms that are available. I didn't argue or complain about being split as a group because I understood that maybe the hotel is full as it was a long weekend. After this horrible check in experience we went to our room. On entering the room we noticed the entrance floor was very sticky. As I paced my bags on the table I noticed the top and the front was sticky with drip marks. The table was gross. As I moved forward towards the TV I noticed the carpet was wet. As the room was really disgusting I right away called the front desk and informed them of the situation. Jay answered the phone and told me very curtly that "I don't have any other vacant room available" and I don't have any options. It was late night and i chose to stay instead of looking for another hotel. Very bad experience. Will never go back.

Checked in and they were aware of the toilet bowl being broke but waited until I made a complaint about it. The entire 4th floor had an oder. I called for towels and did not receive extra towels that I requested. The staff either did not know English or it was their first day and they didn’t know anything. (Understanding obviously when training) but they had more people to train than anything. The ones who did not need training I see why they maybe replaced. Night staff was sleeping at the counter. My family struggled a few times to wake him up. The hotel is pet friendly but they allowed an animal to bark way past midnight and said there was nothing they can do about the dog keeping people awake. My family and I came in for my fathers funeral and the staff was aware but obviously a wedding that was going on was more important to them.
