Didn’t realize you’d have to walk right through the dingy, smoky casino floor to get anywhere and then practically jump up and down to get any staff attention for anything- wasn’t thrilled with that or how overpowering the stale smoke smell was literally everywhere in the hotel except in the room. The family suite room itself was exceptional, however- all nicely updated and so clean! No trace of smoke smell past the hallway door. Breakfast at dennys was a nightmare.

The hotel itself is old and when you walk in the lobby and casino area is old and smoky. The front desk staff was quick to help and the morning staff member was very friendly. Our room was updated and excellent - it felt very “homey” with an actual dresser and the decor. We had the family suite with two rooms and a queen bunk bed which my daughter was very excited about. The Lobby and casino smelled of smoke, but the rooms did not and everything was clean.
You get two vouchers for breakfast at Dennys per room (and can purchase more for $5). The waitress was not friendly and very slow, but we would still stay here again.

Please enjoy the history here. It is absolutely wonderful. Leave the kids and pets with other options. There is no place for a pet to do its business. The staff is wonderful. We will be back when in the area again.

This is a historic hotel and looks pretty neat from the outside. The inside is rough. The smell of smoke can be overwhelming depending on how busy it is and the lady who checked us in was not friendly but then we got to our room… we had the family suite and it was amazing! We had no idea the bunkbeds were in their own room with a small table, half bath & TV. The beds were so comfortable with plenty of blankets and pillows (something that we have found rare on the road trip we are on). There is a Keurig in the room with regular and decaf coffee as well as green tea and bottled water, plenty of shampoo, conditioner, liquid body was and lotion. Best of all, no smoke smell on the room. We were on the 5th floor so I could see lower levels possibly having more of an issue. We received 2 free drink vouchers for the bar and the margaritas were yummy. They also gave us 4 vouchers for free value grand slams which is an amazing value. There was only one waitress when we were there but it wasn’t too bad of a wait. If they could spruce up the entrance and put up a wall with doors to the casino to block the smoke this place would be 10/10!

This was a great stay for one night with the family. The hotel was old school but the room was nicely remodeled. Very comfy and had great amenities! They even gave us 4 complemtary beer tickets for use at the hotel bar!

The family room was great. The hotel was historic so some was old but they are trying to make it nice. The entrance through the casino was very smoky. Nice evening cocktail coupons and breakfast coupons.

We have been guest at the Hotel NV many times. Can't say enough about the employees there. The front desk crew are very nice and hospitable. We were excited to stay in one of the more newly renovated family suites. Biggest complaint was cleanliness of the room. It was very obvious the pillow cases had NOT been changed. They were, let's say, hairy. The sinks had not been washed down, same thing, hairs in them. Toilets appeared clean. They did a nice job creating the suites but cmon guys, put a plastic liner over the old iron tubs, those are gross with paint peeling off. You put a lovely toilet and subway trial on the walls and let a really big eyesore (the tub). We asked for clean pillow cases and someone did come promptly with them. They were nice and clean, I could smell the bleach (not in an offensive way). We tip maids in motels/hotels. Just couldn't do it this time. We've never had dirty sheets or pillow cases here so we were a bit disappointed. But, we will give them another chance because of the staff and location. MrGs across the street is not a bad dinner spot. The Cell Block Steak House across the street has closed. Disappointed but word is a new steak house is coming in it's place.
Overall, always had a solid stay here. It fell short this one time. Please make sure sheets are clean and bathroom ditto.

We stayed in the family suite with my children and it was such a neat setup with two toilets available and queen size bunk beds for the kids to all fit. They didn't like the smell of smoke coming from the casino, but that's to be expected from any hotel in Nevada. They loved the free Denny's breakfast though. Great place to stay to tour Great Basin National Park.
