Best Western Plus York Hotel & Conference Center

Simple and clean hotel with an excellent continental breakfast! It’s a simple stop for families with an added bonus of Applebees on site. The pool was nice but they were out of towels.

Checked in around dinner time, went to the room and it wasn’t clean, went back to the desk and the reaction was “what do you mean it’s not clean?”…trash bags on the floor, bed in disarray…not cleaned at all. Was told it would take 20 minutes, it took an hour. Almost ran out of time to get my kid ready for her softball tournament game by the time we got into room. The rooms are headed downhill and are dated. The sink took forever to drain, as did the shower, which means standing in 2” of water while showering. I don’t remember there being so much audible traffic noise at night as there was this time. Could hear staff wheeling things around outside at 11pm, so that was pretty disruptive too. The scariest part is that there was a whistle of wind blowing through the window. Upon further investigation the window wasn’t closed all the way. Had to push it back and over to get it closed and locked. I’m so glad I looked because that is so unsafe. Gave me the creeps.

Was a nice stay while visiting family. Having an Applebee’s in the hotel was convenient. My first night was chilly, as the heater wasn’t working, but the staff was quick and got me a different room.

Hotel was filled with elementary and middle school baseball players who were unsupervised because the chaperones were more interested in consuming vast quantities of alcohol and reliving their youth by partying loudly. Chaperones ignored staff’s repeated requests to supervise youth, and to quiet both the youth and themselves. We made out reservations for a cross-country drive to get a pet-friendly hotel months in advance. Applebees conveniently located in hotel. Apart from highly inconsiderate pack of about 75-100 uncontrolled children and irresponsible adults, the hotel itself was an acceptable choice.

The hotel is nicely located just off I80 and close to a Walmart and plenty of fast food & eat in places. Applebee's in is the hotel which is nice and convenient. The staff was pleasant and friendly. This time of year (mid July) there are many softball & little leagues games close so be prepared for young boys/kids to be in the pool and in the hallways with little supervision. We didn't stay for breakfast as the area was filled with young kids so we had our breakfast elsewhere.
