The Delmar Loop and the Moonrise Hotel are a very special place for me. The magic has kept me coming back for over a decade. Its versatility accommodates young singles looking for nightlife, couples looking for romance, and families looking for a fun weekend. Dogs are not only welcome, the lobby hosts a doggy refreshment station and a welcome board listing the names of the dogs that are checking in. The staff is always super friendly and helpful and the rooms are always top notch. This last trip was my 10 year old son’s first trip there. His exact words are “It’s the coolest freaking place I have ever been in my life and the bed was so comfortable I slept like a bear in winter”. We will always return to the Moonrise.

We chose this hotel based on its location. That did not disappoint. Nor did the kitschy moon theme throughout the hotel.
In our room, multiple items were broken: the stopper in the sink, the TP holder, and the handle in the bathroom door (it would just fall out). During our entire visit, the beds were made with the flat sheets on TOP of the comforters. This was done for five days. Despite having a number of housekeeping staff people, dirty dishes and glasses were left outside in hallways and common areas for over 24 hours.
When it came to the front desk staff, most were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The Friday, Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday FOH staff people were lovely. On Sunday evening, there were two young white women who could not be troubled to look up from their phones for any reason whatsoever. I had an issue with a Grubhub delivery, which was not their fault. Their response was very rude though. They told me that another hotel guest had taken my food and that I should take theirs if it looks good, and then reorder. I went upstairs and called back down to see if my order had been returned. It had and the young woman on the phone said that the other guest "looked grossed out" and put it back. (It was Ethiopian food.). Terrible customer service and very culturally insensitive to say the least.
Overall, I would say that it was fair. If you're a family that likes walkability, keep looking.

This property is well maintained, and the staff is great. It's also close to Blueberry Hill, Tivol, The Pageant, An indoor putt putt golf, and a super cute bowling alley. There is plenty of international food options and the Fitz soda factory for a family-oriented experience. Really love it!

Awesome mini museum inside, very quiet sleeping areas behind security doors. And as someone with back and hip problems, i feel the need to mention how comfortable the beds are! Both soft and firm at the same time. Only negative for me personally is the rain showers, many people love this type of shower, personally its not ideal for me esp with young kids. But hey! Big safety plus is the floor of the shower isnt about to result in a slip!

great stay! fabulous little boutique hotel. an amazing place to stay if you’re visiting the pageant. it’s literally about 500 feet from entrance to entrance. hotel and room very clean. this hotel sells their own candles they burn in the lobby that just smell amazing. and the rainbow staircase!! i mean cmon it’s worth visiting just for that alone ;) the upstairs bar had a good view of the city. oh and you are also provided with NEST products for the bathroom. also we’re allowed early check in. we will definitely be staying here again next time we are going to a show at the pageant! i felt like i was on the moon baby! oh and the parking lot situation was fine. we self parked our rental car behind the hotel in the not secured lot and had no issues. i also did not see any other cars messed with when we left..no broken glass etc..there’s a tiny parking garage down the street but no one could tell us if you actually had to pay the meter to park there (it only took change) didn’t want to risk a tow, so took my chance of a broken window instead but we were totally fine. i was worried for nothing.

I've been a loyal patron of this hotel since early 2010, roughly. I'm from STL and come back often for family business and visits. I'm concerned that the property is showing signs of wear and that there is less enthusiasm from ownership to maintain the shine. Furniture is inconsistent in the rooms, and bedding & towels, frayed and lumpy. We had neither chez longe or arm chair, this last time. We simply had an ottoman. I'm sure the Pandemic and local economic factors have taken their toll. In that sense, I'm glad they've hung on. I'm not giving up, but thought you'd like to know.

I have been staying at Moonrise Hotel since it first opened, unfortunately this will probably be our last stay. We arrived in the evening and they had given our room away, only had accessible handicapped rooms available, even 5hough we booked in advance. Our hotel room door was sticking, would not lock properly. The complimentary drink ticket could only be used for alcoholic beverages , we don't drink. The noise between loud music, dogs barking, and an employees loud truck every night below us, and trash being taken out, we did not sleep well. The hotel manager was rude and argumentative with me over the phone . The rest of 5he hotel staff was great. He was not. The food for breakfast was not good. Dry pancakes, unseasoned potatoes. Dry sandwich. I've always loved Moonrise and recommended it to friends and family. It has lost its appeal and charm. Other 5han it's convenient location to music venues.

Moonrise met our need for a one night stay when visiting our baby nephew. Room was adequately outfitted although the hallways were quire noisy early in the morning and we felt better sound- proofing in the halls was needed!
Personnel were friendly and efficient.
