Hampton Inn Farmington

I arrived and the front desk person had a difficult time checking me in...computer seemed to be giving him trouble. When i opened the door the room was the smallest room i have ever seen in a moder hotel! The 1st morning the breakfast was lacking, biscuits, little quarter sized sausage cut very thin, one in the pan. Dry hasbrown patties? The gym had a sign up that inferred it was closed. I found out at check out it wasn't closed, just remodeling. One night my key card didnt work, Kenny had to let me in. The hot water heater was being replaced/repaired? And there was lukewarm water in the shower. I will say the mattress was wonderful. My rate was 250.00 per night!- my room at Home2Suites in St. Louis was 189.99 for a huge unit with a full kitchen. I was disappointed in the Farmington Hampton Inn. I have family in Farmington but when i visit next year I will not stay at the Hilton Hampton Inn. The person at the front desk did refund a day but my total bill was 998.00. That is quite a sum for sch a small room.

My first evening I listened to a large dog barking in the room next to me non-stop for over 4 hours. And had 6-8 kids, 5-10yrs old, running up and down the hallway while their parents had fun downstairs which was probably causing the dog to bark! After 2 Complaints ( 2nd one I had thrown everything in my bags and went downstairs to either be Moved or to leave all together but they said they would take care of them the situation)(I wasn’t the only one) management took care of the situation. I was so tired the next day (I had been up since 2am day before) that I was Dragging all day. Felt miserable. Other than that, it was good. The staff was very nice even with the dog/kid issues.

This is a Hampon Inn in name only; it was clean and the staff was rather courteous, but otherwise it fell short...the plumbing in the bathroom didn't work well: toilet stopped and and didn't flush well, the shower head was not adjustable despite having several settings; the breakfast was disappointing...been to many HI's and no gravy offered? French toast sticks on last day were made of rubber...another first for Hampton the coffee was weak on day 2. No natural sugar in the raw either. Rooms were clean but not up to Hampton stds we are used to. Staff couldn't give us a room key upon checkin so we had to have staff let us in and have someone remain in room to let a family member in to bring luggage...couldn't leave the room for at least an hour...then staff didn't have the service acumen to bring the room key by, we had to seek it out. we won't be seeking a second stay at this HI in Farmington...very disappointing. With Hampton, we expect comfort...it just didn't measure up.

When we need to spent the night we always stay at hampton and we were from that area at one time and still have family there. its has alway been quite there this time they had some noise people
