Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Magee, an IHG Hotel

I stopped at this holiday inn because I usually stay in holiday inns mostly because I like them except this the first time I didn’t like a holiday inn I only stopped because I was traveling back home to Texas and I had been driving for a day and needed to stop and rest because I had my children with me and I had to get some sleep the outside looked creepy like if it wasn’t a safe place and the front African lady at night was nice but the white old lady in the morning nope she was just plain rude not to the white guests that where eating breakfast in the morning but she was to me not to mention I wasn’t able to get a lot of rest because they didn’t have any crib to be able to put my baby in so I could be able to get some sleep because all the other holiday inns have a crib if u request one but the night lady said they don’t carry them at this location so I was trying to sleep while worried my son was gonna fall off the bed and hurt himself and the hotel was basic when walking to my room I seen a room door that previously been broken and run down holiday inn my when in my room it was ok for $165 dollars for a couple hours of sleep you would think I would say wow this is an amazing holiday inn but not at this location it looked like a motel 6 and felt like one also very run down and felt very unsafe but it was at least clean this is the first time I hasn’t at all pleased with a holiday inn for the price I payed just for a couple of hours there

I spent the night at this location because my best friend and her family were staying there. The room was very clean. However, the cleaning products still had a very strong scent in the room when we arrived. The only thing that I was disappointed about was that the pool was closed because too much chemicals was added and it needed time to settle (that’s what we were told). There does seem to be possible structural problems. The floor feels uneven. The free breakfast was decent. Staff was very friendly.

Your hotel was the last of our stays of a 14 night trek across the country. We stayed at several HIE and we like the familiar feel that most have. But the Magee location was our best stay of the entire vacation! They were friendly. They were clean. They were helpful. I visited with the most precious woman at breakfast the morning we left. She was busy making sure everything was clean and that there was plenty of food out for everyone. After 14 days on the road, you start to miss family terribly. But she took the time from her busy job to just chat with me. And that was appreciated more than she'll ever know. You can't teach employees to be friendly, not genuinely friendly. I believe her name was Helen, and I'm sorry if I got that part wrong. She gives your establishment a shining star!

Overall this was a good stay. The room had an odd smell, but seemed cleaned. The bathtub/shower could have been cleaner. The room was plenty big for my family of five. Everyone enjoyed breakfast.

This is a great hotel, BUT just needs a little cleaning. The showers had mold and mildew as did the sink. There was a carpet square that was pulled up causing a trip hazard, that got my kids a few times! Lastly we booked a double suite, 2 double beds and a full-size pull out couch, for a family of 5, we had plenty of room….but only 2 towels. When we requested more in the morning, they had none. That was a little upsetting. The person at the desk was very very nice, but her only solution to our towel problem was to find a cleaning lady to ask for some. When we couldn’t. She gave us….bath mats to dry off with.

The kitchen lady is absolutely rude. Yelled at an old man in such a rude way and she was absolutely rude to me and my kids.

Peggy was my first impression of this hotel and she was wonderful! So nice and so personable! The property was in good condition and our accomodations were nice. Very spacious room! There was an odor that came from a drain in our bathroom, but it did not go beyond there so I was glad. We slept well and ate well for our road trip. Great for families.
