Delta Hotels by Marriott Detroit Metro Airport

We stayed with 2 young children, for 1 night after arriving at Detroit airport. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The room was fine, a bit noisy overnight but we had a white noise machine which blocked most of it out. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The restaurant was a disappointment. I can’t fault the service, but the prices were extortionate. Had we not had two exhausted children after a transatlantic flight, we would have walked to one of the nearby restaurants for dinner. Breakfast was included in our rate but I would have been outraged to pay $14 for the lox bagel, which was just half of an untoasted bagel. We would probably stay again for the friendly service and clean facilities, but I’d choose elsewhere should we need to dine on site.

The rooms were clean and well maintained. Our family of 11 stayed over the Mother’s Day weekend and were unable to get brunch reservations anywhere nearby for the number in our party. Luckily the hotel had a restaurant which served breakfast which is on a first come first served basis. When we inquired about seating regarding Sunday breakfast, we were told to ask the hostess. She asked what time we wanted to dine set up for us in the dining area so we could all be together. We ended up having the entire dining room to ourselves which made for an intimate experience. The food and service were excellent.

I am so angry I booked this hotel specifically because of the pool. We were planning a stay with our 2 grandchildren so they could swim and they were so excited for weeks to go swimming and when we arrived they informed us that the pool was closed! We were so disappointed!

Delta Hotels by Marriott at Detroit Airport put my children's safety at risk. Their management has little to no regard for the safety of children and young people staying at this property. Their actions were unforgivable. After a woeful response from hotel management we escalated our fears to Marriott Customer Service - turns out Marriott has no ability to contact one of their properties even in an emergency as they cannot ring out. Shameful. If you are a family with kids I highly recommend you find an alternative place to stay if you value your children's safety. Oh and if management now try and respond to this review please know that it's been 10 days since raising the alarm and despite repeated written assurances from Marriott neither Marriott or the property management has bothered to reach out and they have multiple methods to have contact me - any follow up now is irrelevant and is only because they have had a bad review and is disingenuous - if they cared about children's safety they would have contacted immediately.

I really enjoyed the staff from the shuttle service to the greeting when I entered the hotel. Every staff member I encountered was very nice and hospitable. The bed was very comfortable. I wish the restaurant had more food options. Over all I had a relaxing time. It felt like family!

We arrived to the airport around10:30pm and the airport shuttle never showed up. We called 3 times and the person who answered the phone kept talking over me repeating “It's on his way, it’s on his way, it’s on his way”. Never gave me the opportunity to explained that I was waiting in the cold for almost 40 min with a 5 month old baby. We had to find our own transportation. There were more guests with us waiting and we ended up sharing a Van. The staff didn’t really care about the issue. There are not washer and dryer for guests even though it is advertised.

I can't believe this is a marriot hotel. There was noise coming from the rooms like people were living there. Employees had family members there and while checking me in, they were talking to their family sitting in the lobby. What a weird experience.
