I went to check in and was informed my reservation was canceled. I wasn’t notified through the 3rd party I booked with (Expedia) and it was a late arrival I was out at 12am with my family trying to find a hotel room on the 4th of July. Terrible. The staff at this hotel where my reservation was cancelled did try to help me find another place to stay with no luck. Very unfortunate situation.

I recently stayed at a hotel in Michigan, checking in on Friday, July 5th, and checking out on Sunday, July 7th. This isn't the first time I've stayed in a similar hotel; I previously stayed at one in Tempe, Arizona. Quite honestly, my experience there was not up to par. However, this time in Michigan, I was pleasantly surprised.
The hotel room was spacious and quiet, and while the cleanliness wasn't perfect, it was acceptable. Most importantly, the location in Warren, Detroit, was very convenient. It was close to many places where I needed to conduct business and visit friends and family.
I recommend this hotel for families, especially the suite with two bedrooms. The price was very reasonable, and I felt that I got good value for my money. I would definitely recommend this place.

We had to have our room changed because there was a bodily fluid looking substance on our comforter. Also, our hand towels were wet with fresh brown stains on them. Our couch was also busted and stained. There was also a burn on the carpet near the fireplace. The dishes were dirty and wet as well. Upon moving into our new room, we found that our silverware and coffee cups were very dirty and disgusting. Our kithen floor was extremely filthy. One of the bedroom lamps was busted too.We were also blindsided by the $150 deposit we were required to pay at the desk, we were not informed prior to booking. My wife and I payed decent money to have a relaxing time, only to be subject to what I expressed above. We are extremely unhappy with our stay. Also, we were unable to utilize the pool because a group of kids were in there for hours unattended and even during the 9-10 Adult pool time.

This is the first time I ever canceled a hotel reservation upon arrival. The smoke detector needed new batteries and was beeping ever few minutes. Nobody at the front desk could help and they recommended removing the battery. We did that, but it of course didn't change the beeping situation. The room smelled like smoke. We got a 2 bedroom suite... we planned to use those beds and the pull out couch to accommodate 2 adults and 3 children. The pull out couch was DISGUSTING! (I'm not sure if it will let me post a picture, but I'll try!) There were also no sheets or blankets for the pull out couch. We were able to get a full refund, and the staff was genuinely pleasant to worth with, but I can't imagine staying there. The entire place felt grimy... like you didn't feel comfortable taking off your shoes.

On a stay of eight days, I would have expected at least one visit by housekeeping and a change of sheets and towels…..But I was focused on visiting my family and didn’t make an issue of it. Overall ok. Seemed safe, right across from the City of Warren Police station…….

This used to be an apartment complex that they converted into a hotel. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. Having the space was nice for our family of 4 but the place is rundown. It had a weird smell that seemed to be coming from under the kitchen sink that filled the entire place. There were dents in the walls and the faux leather chairs had significant peeling. One of the kitchen plugs sparked when we tried to plug in a charger. It is definitely a space used for parties as we found a balloon under the bed. They need to invest more in this property to make it a hotel and not a motel. I personally would not stay here again.

The room was pretty tight for the three of us staying for two nights. Disappointed there was no housekeeping during the stay and if you wanted fresh towels, you had to bring the dirty ones to the front desk to exchange it. The hotel didn’t have the linens and pillow for the pull out sofa in the room and I had to call to have them bring it to the room. I should have looked at how many towels were in the room before I called but there was only two body towels. Good thing we packed our own towels. But just saying, if the room can have 4 guests, at least have enough towels. The room had a weird odor and the bed was not comfortable. Just so disappointed in this stay. We only used the room to come back and sleep since we were mostly out with family. The only thing good was probably the front desk lady, she was nice. But never again staying there. Overall, the room needed an update on the furniture and the room needed some deep cleaning.

The person who checked us in, Katie, was kind, welcoming and cheerful. The check-in process was very easy. When we initially checked in and went to our room, the room was dirty. There was visible dirt on doors and walls. The sofa cushions were stained and when we pulled out the sofa bed the mattress also had multiple bright stains on and the sheets were just set inside. We asked for a new room and despite being fully booked, Katie got us a clean room and some clean sofa bed sheets, pillows, and towels. Due to having an event to get to, we had to drop our stuff in the room and go. When we came back, the hallways stunk of weed, the sofa in our new room also had stains on it, the comforter on the bed had stains, there were cob webs in corners, and multiple items like the chairs and end tables had greasy and/or sticky stuff all over them. Our family was so uncomfortable in the room, we slept for a couple of hours and took off very early. I appreciate the staff trying to make it right, but I will never stay at a Sonesta again or recommend it to anyone.

This property used to be a Marriott Residence Inn and is now owned/operated by Sonesta. We stayed here several times when it was a Marriott.
Pros: pet-friendly 2-bedroom suite for moderate price. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast advertised as “grab-and-go” but they had they had Jimmy Dean egg/cheese/meat biscuits (warm), a waffle maker, yogurt, milk, juice, bagels, and danishes.
Cons room 411:
1. Cleanliness - there was someone’s shirt, a toothbrush, the top of a baby bottle and other garbage under the bed and there was food from the previous guest in the refrigerator.
2. Condition: the refrigerator did not chill so our food spoiled, the sofa/bed was so slumped in the middle that it wasn’t really useable as a couch. The interior sliding doors to the master would not retract all the way and had to be lifted to move. The ottoman had numerous areas of damage to the surface (perhaps caused by a previous guest’s pet?), one leg of the dining table was angled inward instead of straight down so I suspect it will detach completely before too long. The lower dishwasher rack did not fit correctly and would crash off the slider whenever used. The towel rack in the master bath had one side that detached from the wall. Numerous stains on the carpet.
Convenience: No dishwashing liquid, no spare trash bag, no service/towel replacement during our 2 night stay (perhaps because we had pets?), not enough basic utensils (no spatula, paring knife, etc).

Rooms are very spacious, could easily accommodate a family. Would stay here again and also recommend this location. I had a great stay.
