Holiday Inn Express South Haven, an IHG Hotel

People above and beside us were noisy, could hear kids in the pool since we were close; otherwise, the breakfast was actually solid—decent detection and decent quality (Greek yogurt options, cereals, apples, bananas, omelettes, sausage links/patties, biscuits and gravy, and hot cinnamon rolls that were delicious). Coffee was provided but we didn’t try it so I can’t say if it’s good quality. Pillows and bed were okay; pillows were a bit thin, bed was a little too firm. Climate control was excellent, as was the water quality, temperature, and pressure. Location was just outside of south haven but near the highway to make getting into SH or another nearby town (like Saugatuck) very easy. We enjoyed visiting the lighthouse in South Haven for sunset after dinner.

The hotel was very nice and just what we needed for a family get away. There was an issue in the pool area but I have to commend Gabrielle Cummins on the response to my concerns. Each time I needed something, it was never a bother to her. We were more than just a room occupant.

We stayed at a few hotels in the area and this one is by far the best. This place is so clean, new, comfortable, etc. The breakfast even offers hot items which is a nice touch. We are coming back here over and over since we have family in the area and need a place to stay.

We loved the room, the suite was clean and new. The toilet wasn’t bolted down all the way and was super wobbly so that was annoying, but as far as the room goes that was the only problem. Unfortunately our stay wasn’t very enjoyable due to the amount of noise from other guests. The people above us let their children run and jump literally ALL NIGHT so all we heard was non stop stomping from above us. The people next to us let their kids run around screaming and stomping. The people across the hall from of us had older kids who kept leaving and coming back without a key and were banging like the cops to get let it. They also were chasing each around the halls with pool noodles. This is 100% the parent of the children’s fault. I have a child as well and she started to skip around when we got there because she was excited. I reminded her that we have to be courteous to our neighbors so no jumping or stomping. I wish the other parents would have done the same. The stomping was coming from all over and was non stop. The bed was comfortable but I was woken up every 2 hours and then at 7am I finally called the front desk because I couldn’t take it anymore. It was quiet for 2 hours and then at 9 the stomping started yet again. We checked out and went home. The hotel is new. They should have put extra padding in the floors or something. I’ve never had so much noise from a hotel. It’s too bad because we loved the room and the hotel. All the noise ruined it :(

The staff was super friendly especially the young lady that checked us in on Thurs 6/29 around 430. I'm really bad at names but she was super sweet! At some point we lost ones of my kids toys and it was at the front desk at checkout the next am. Only downside was it was very noisy but that was due to other guests and not the hotels fault. Huge plus....the blackout curtains are the best I've ever seen.

The Holiday Inn Express was very new and clean. All of the staff were very kind and helpful. The breakfast was very good with lots of options.I would definitely stay there again. It was our first time on Michigan beaches we were blown away by it’s beauty. Great family vacation!!

On trend, clean, comfortable. Staff were helpful. Continental Breakfast was great for kids and adults alike.
