Delta Hotels by Marriott Kalamazoo Conference Center

I paid for a king room with a sleeper sofa and the room did not have a couch even. I was told my room was for two. The reservation clearly says king bed with a sleeper sofa (sleeps 4). My kids had to sleep on the floor for 350$

Two reasons why this place did not get a high score: 1) The toilet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in over a week and 2) The pool area was filthy and the hot tub (Despite being Clearly marked that no one under the age of 16 was allowed) Was overrun with 10-year-olds! The good news about the toilet is that, as soon as I called the front desk to let them know, they sent someone to clean it right away! It’s just too bad that I had to see the cleaning crew had gotten in the habit of simply wiping down the seat and not lifting up the lid! As far as The hot tub, I complained to the front desk about all the children and was told somebody would come out. Well, they sent the security guard to the edge of the pool to speak with one of the adults who, obviously denied being in charge of any of the children because none of the children were instructed to leave the hot tub. I was expecting that the security guard would actually, go over to the children and tell them that they had to get. It’s really too bad that parents these days don’t care to keep their children following the rules so that other people can have a good time. The hot tub is supposed to be the one place that an adult can relax and enjoy themselves on vacation while the children play in the pool. I’m not going to enjoy a hot tub with 10 other 10-year-olds and a couple four-year-olds doing cannonballs. My fiancé and son both ended up sick from swimming in the pool. At least we slept well!

First of all let me start with the beds and pillows were excellent! However as soon as we got off the elevator to go to our room the smell was awful. It smelled like old milk or something. Apparently it was the same on the third floor where our friends were staying. It was so bad that I covered my nose to go down to the pool. Thankfully it did not make it into our room.and it did seem to dissipate as the night went on The pool was fine, however the hot tub didn’t seem to have any way to turn on jets so it was more like a very warm tub with like 4 jets (that had very small children in it which was kind of annoying) On check out the odd smell in the hallway was replaced by the stench of weed. I mentioned it to the staff and it seemed were going to deal with it

Pool was great, the kids had a blast.

Pros: staff was very friendly. The pool room was nice and entertaining for the kids. Location is in a quiet spot of town. Good beer menu at the bar. Not so great: for being renovated from top to bottom just five years ago, this place is looking run down. Our carpets in our room were straight up gross. Like frosting and chocolate ground into the carpet. Carpet pulling away from the walls. Dead bugs in the corners. Same in the hallways. For some reason used to have a thermostat, but when they removed it they just ripped it off the wall? Caulk coming up in the bathroom that could be such an easy fix for a maintenance staff that gave a darn about the property. The condition of the property is what you’d expect at an $89 room, not $150.

The photos presented on Hotels.com (where we booked) really presented an stark contrast from what we experienced. The bar/dinning room was pitch black and closed. It actually made us feel like we were arriving at the Shining hotel. It took a really long time to have someone greet us and check-in. When we actually made it to our room the hallway was littered with about a dozen random wine glasses and beer glasses outside our room. And to top it all off, around 9:30-10pm the power went out in the building. After conferring with the front desk staff the ETA on power to return to the building was about 5:30am. Then to top it all off, when we were going to check out, both sets of elevators were not working. We were on the 4th floor and had a cart full of luggage for us and our toddler that we had to lug down 3 flights of stairs. The say the least, this was probably the most disappointing hotel experience I've had in the past decade and I travel a lot for business and personal trips.

We found the staff to be extremely kind and accomodating. We were traveling with our grandchildren and the loved the pool, foosball and arcade. The restaurant staff was excellent.

Restaurant and bar staff are incredibly rude and negligent. Pool/hot tub had 0 towels and was very dirty.. almost a trip and im on the ground level tucked all the way in the back of the hotel next to a room filled with screaming children. They stay was horrible and i wouldnt recommend it to anyone. Only redeeming quality was the front desk staff, they were tentative and professional. To go into further detail on the restaurant staff, we waited nearly 20 minutes to be seated, 30 minutes after it opened.. when we reached the tables finally, they were all gross and sticky, none washed. Then we saw the food prices, completely turned off from how gross it was. The waitress then proceeded to make comment as we left to bar staff over how "These kids come in and see the prices and say, "f--- no". No, it wasnt your prices, it was your cleanliness and attitude. Would never recommend, we were heavily insulted and felt uncomfortable to come back for breakfast.

Wish they had an adult time for the hot tub. Fullnof young kids all night

The hotel is under construction, which is fine, however the pool area was very messy, not safe, paint chipping everywhere. The main area outside of our room was dirty, with trash and towels all over. My kids socks were absolutely filthy from running around on the floors. The game room and hot tub was closed, which was two of the things we came to this hotel for. The patio was also very dirty. I understand renovations are needed and I’m sure they’re short staffed but it seemed very pricey for the condition of the place.
