Hampton Inn by Hilton New Bedford/Fairhaven

We stayed 2 nites at the Hampton Inn by Hilton New Bedford/Fairhaven over Memorial Day weekend to see the USS Massachusetts battleship & the PJ Kennedy destroyer at the Battleship Cove. This is one of the few hotels that have a room for 5 people. Having 3 kids sometimes it's hard to find hotel rooms that can sleep 5. The room was very spacious and comfortable for all of us. With a Mid size fridge, coffee maker, microwave and even a small bar sink. The reception was welcoming and they had a 24 hr coffee bar with free tea, coffee, hot cocoa (makes happy kids after a long car ride), iced water dispenser. It was new, nice and clean, despite undergoing more renovations in the lobby. Our room was a brand new remodel wirh a walk in shower with glass sliding doors. King bed, pull out couch, free rollaway bed & crib. It was easy to park and free; along with free wifi, free hot breakfast with eggs, meat, waffles, selection of baked goods, cereal, whole fruits, yogurt, juices. The 2 breakfast ladies were so kind to fetch immediately a new bottle of whip cream for my son when it ran out for his freshly made Waffles. That turned a disappointed child into a smiling child and I was so grateful for her kindness. The ladies replenished items quickly and were responsive to the guests' every request while keeping things spotless. They provided more superior service than a waiter/waitress working for tips. I had to tip them 2 after our last day of breakfast. We had a wonderful weekend getaway.

The room was very clean. Breakfast was great. Staff was very friendly & welcoming. Stood there for a weekend with family & I will do it again when I go back to Massachusetts. I loved everything about this place !

Great location. It made it easy to visit family on the Cape and family in Rhode Island.

The staff was amazing. The food was delicious. The place and rooms were clean. The only reason I did not enjoy it to the fullest is because Expedia has the wrong description under king size/sofa bed non smoking room. Expedia wrote that the bedroom was separate. We booked it for a family of 5. My husband and I were supposed to be in the bedroom and the girls in a sofa bed and a roll away cot. Except, when we got there, we found out that EXPEDIA LIED about the room and it was one room with a king size and a sofa bed. The staff did give us a roll out cot. Expedia customer service kept trying to blame me for the misunderstanding even though the description totally said that it was a separate bedroom. The hotel couldn’t help because I booked it through Expedia. My advice: you can stay at this hotel but book with them directly. Expedia refused to take ownership of the mistake. They eventually offered me 75 dollars discount for a future trip. That did not help us in this trip. Needless to say, I would never book through Expedia again.

Overall a good stay for families

In town for a funeral, felt very comfortable, were not disturbed by kids running in the hall or the odor of marijuana any time you left the room. Our stay here has made this Hotel my go to place when I have to come home for any event
