Thank you to the staff at the Sonesta Greenbelt for making my family and I so comfortable during our visit to your hotel. Nidin went above and beyond to help us in every way. We will be back for another staycation.

I stayed here for 1 night before heading into the Capital with my children. It was easy to get to, plenty of parking and staff were great. The room was clean and shower was great. My only real complaint was a smell when we walked into our room. It was a kind of damp smell but within a couple of minutes, you got used to it and didnt recognise it, well until you left and came back to the room.
Id maybe stay again for the room rate and a quick layover.
Oh we also ate at TGI Fridays which was a short walk as the restaurant within the hotel was closed.

Sonesta is not very hospitable with their policies around "early check-in." Their posted check-in time is 4pm, later than most hotel brands, and to check-in "early" you have to pay a certain amount (maybe $50, don't remember) per hour early. Total scam! I have been working in hospitality for 20 years, and I've never treated a guest or been treated as a guest with such disregard. I arrived at 1pm to check-in with my infant daughter to nap and change before an event we had driven several hours to attend. At any other hotel this would not have been an issue. The front desk representative refused to check us in, and I had to wait in 80 degree weather with an infant for hours. I likely will not stay at any sonesta again without calling and making sure I will be treated with care and appreciation as a frequent traveler.

I would never stay here again with my children, it’s a nice room but the price is not worth it, the man who checked me in also live here I guess, he had a room right beside our room. He also worked all day by his self when this hotel was busy, so longer wait times because of no staff smdh!!

The house staff are very good. The rooms are well maintained. The bed is comfortable. The shower is hot with adequate water pressure. The indoor pool is well used by the kids. Weight/ exercise room and washer/ dryer are available if desired. Multiple cultural dining experiences are within 1 mile. Easy access to College Park, DC, Baltimore. Check in and check out are painless having used online prepayment.

I would not recommend this hotel. We had just stayed at a Sonesta in Fairfax and it was lovely. This property in Greenbelt, MD had so many issues. While some of these may seem petty, I think it was the culmination of all of these things that really began to frustrate me. Rooms were mediocre with the furniture not being that clean and the beds terribly uncomfortable. There was a plastic baggie wrapped with an elastic around the smoke detector in our room. The elevator closest to us worked when we first arrived and then was out of order the remainder of our stay. All of the side doors were not working for two days, so although our room was in the very back of the hotel we had to utilize the front door. The door to the pool did not work for three days. There is no bathroom anywhere near the pool so if you have children be prepared to walk them around the whole dang hotel to the lobby bathroom in wet bathing suits. Things were forgotten to be put out each morning for the continental breakfast (and with some staff attitude we were made to feel like a burden requesting items). These items included the toaster for bagels one morning, bowls for the cereal, butter, no coffee one morning, coffee cups, napkins and more, but you get the point. It was a rough stay overall. I would have left had there been a way to get a refund.
