Ocean Gate Resort

We really enjoyed the pool and the free continental breakfast was delicious. The grounds were beautifully maintained. Lots of activities and everything you need is right there on the property. It was so nice to be able to borrow the bikes, kayaks, canoe. Great spot to take your family!

We recently stayed at the ocean gate resort. Despite it needing a little TLC, our room was right on the water. Quietly nestled away from the hustle and bussle it was great. Plenty of activities for a family or a couple great breakfast friendly staff, clean room and grounds. Looking forward to a longer stay next year. Heated pool, kayaks, mini golf. Even saw some seals playing the ocean right from our balcony. Great place to stay.

We only stayed one night but it would be a great family resort! All kinds of things to do. Great views of the water. Free breakfast. Love Maine!

Excellent place for a family vacation !

Ocean Gate was exactly what we were looking for! It was a very comfortable, relaxed property. I was with 3 other ladies for Fall Foliage and we felt for safe and I am planning to go back with my family!

We enjoyed the full breakfast each morning. The views of the harbor are beautiful. The available canoe, kayaks and paddle boards was a plus. The room had a special 'makeup' washcloth in a dark gray color ..very nice touch. From mini golf to campfires... wonderful family experience.

It was like staying at a summer camp they cheaply converted into a motel. Definitely needed a facelift. However, the staff was amazing, good breakfast included, had kayaks/canoes/SUPs, pool, mini golf, fire pits. Would definitely stay again if I was on a budget with kids.

This is my 5th time staying with Ocean Gate. It’s a great place to vacation as a family or a couples getaway. I’ve had the pleasure of staying in 3 of their different buildings. The beds are always comfy and the rooms are clean. The included breakfast consist of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, blueberry pancakes, along with assorted breads/bagels, pastries, cereals, yogurt and fruit. The coffee is delicious, although it would be great if offered all day as it’s only available during breakfast. The pool is heated and somewhat clean. They could do a better job vacuuming up the dirt on the bottom. My son and I played a game of tennis, basketball, mini golf and ping pong. We also enjoyed the use of the kayaks and canoes. Boothbay Harbor is minutes away. Definitely check out the Southport General Store. My only complaint is that I wish they’d recycle. Overall it’s a great resort! Beautiful sunsets! Oh ya, expect bugs in the bathroom as it’s Maine!
