We booked this property looking at their website and expedias website . Both showed a pool. My friend and I have 4 kids under 8 years old. I booked both rooms assuming our rooms would be next to each other. This was for comfort and safety. When we arrived we were not told the pool wasn’t working. We were told our rooms were not next to each other and there was nothing that could be done. It seems that many of their rooms are not available because they are not completed. After dinner we went to use the pool and found it was not working . Our children were extremely disappointed. We went to talk to management. They were extremely abrupt and dismissive. They blamed Expedia for the miscommunication. We asked to cancel our reservation for the next night and for a refund so we could book at a property with a pool. They said this was on Expedia because we booked with them . I was on hold with Expedia for over 30 mins and was disconnected. Expedia stated they needed flagship inns approval for a refund. Flagship did not give approval so Expedia would not refund. We spoke to other guests and they also believed there was a pool when they booked and management was rude to them when they asked about this. When we asked flagship if there were local swimming spots they did not know. Other disappointments.. there are swastikas painted on the door jam to the place they use for breakfast. There was an electric plug without a cover in our room. There are mattresses and trash overflowing .

This hotel was rated 8.8 on Hotels.com. I’d give it a 3 tops. Updated room but mattress not too comfortable, flimsy comforter, water pressure in shower very poor. And the heating/air unit was old and very noisy. Parking lot surrounded the whole place and no table in the room or chairs outside the doors. Virtually no continental breakfast (delivery didn’t arrive.. for the 3 days we were there they said). Just a few guests in their 220ish number of rooms yet they put everyone in the same section next door / above one another, with a baby next door to us. When we talked to management about why it was all excuses and no resolution. (There were like 20 guests in the entire place). Cleaning staff very nice.

Only a 3 minute drive to downtown Boothbay Harbor makes this affordable hotel worth it. The kids enjoyed the pool and the breakfast included each morning offered several options. Definitely recommend to families with young children who want ease and convenience and don’t want to break the bank!

Completely false advertising about the continental breakfast. The pictures on the website show it in the restaurant with tons of seating and food options it is not true the food is in the lobby and it’s horrible food and hardly any selection of anything, no yogurts or fruit and only two tables to sit at. I thought the breakfast would be convenient with our two kids but the food is inedible and there’s nowhere to sit anyway. The room was very small and cramped for four of us. I don’t know how these properties seem to always get away with showing pictures of great continental breakfasts they make it look like they have a huge selection and it’s at least decent and it always ends up being terrible.

This is a clean, friendly place to stay. It’s next to a trail on conservation land on one side and a busy road on the other (not as loud as you’d think). The kids enjoyed the pool. We were disappointed in the continental breakfast options and chose not to partake but it might sway us from staying again. We love the Boothbay area and this is a good launching point especially if going to the botanical garden (a must). Bonus because Sarah’s Scoops is right next door.

We went to see the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens decked out with lights when much to our surprise we noticed Flagship was as beautifully adorned as could be. What a treat and what a memory filled weekend my family and I had. It wouldn’t have been possible without our comforting accommodations and the convenience of being so close to what we were in town to see.

Room was clean. Beds were double beds, not super comfortable, but they were fine. Pool was closed the day we stayed, which was a huge bummer for our kids. Breakfast was good.

We enjoyed our stay and you could easily walk down to the harbor in Boothbay. The kids loved the outdoor pool.

We stayed at the Flagship Inn two years ago and upon deciding to go back to Booth Bay Harbor we checked the Flagship first for a reservation. The staff is courteous and friendly. I would recommend the Flagship Inn to family and friends.
