Mostly very good however, industry wide, the beds are to high and the chairs to low, especially for children and elderly.

They ran out of towels during our stay. We booked a room for 6 and the room had three towels, no bedding for the pull out, three tissues and half a roll of toilet paper. The eggs at breakfast made my our children sick as well.

We stay in Iowa City frequently, but this was our first time staying at this hotel. We will NEVER stay there again! It was clean and conveniently located, but the person who checked us in on Friday May 12th was odd at check in, and became very rude that evening. Our 6 year old was having an asthma attack after swimming Friday evening, and she was coughing into her elbow while we were waiting for the elevator to get up to our room. The employee at the front desk YELLED across the lobby at us standing at the elevator, and said “WOULD YOU COVER HER MOUTH?!”. The elevator came and we got to the room to use her Inhaler, and our 6 year old said she didn’t want to stay at this hotel anymore. After she stopped coughing, I called to let the front desk know the child that they were yelling at was having an asthma attack, and not sick. This turned into the front desk employee yelling and saying that her family has no immune system and she can’t afford to get sick.…. My husband is a physician and I am registered nurse. We are very germ conciseness. We were having a fun stay, up until we encountered that very rude person. Our eldest of 4 daughters graduated from the University of Iowa this past weekend. We will continue to visit the Iowa city/coralville area frequently, but that rude employee ensured we will never stay at this hotel again.

This property is brand new so it’s very pretty. The pool area is nice and the pool was warm, a plus!
Negatives, Fox News was on the TV as you entered the lobby, puke. The beds are set on platforms with squared corners that are a little larger than the mattress. The corners are just the right height to bang up the legs of kids and adults as well. 5 year old ended up with a nasty thigh bruise.
Otherwise a nice place and good value.

Hotel is very new and things are still being worked on. Bathroom wasn't clean like a normal hotel. Microwave had food from previous guests. Water pressure was very very low....my kids even made a comment about it. I strongly feel a lot of the issues with the hotel is staffing related meaning short staffed like everywhere. I never saw more than 1 person working the whole time we stayed and we stayed for 3 nights.

The morning staff was incredible. The night staff was absolutely horrid. Half of the time, there was not anyone at the front desk for requests, check-in, or just general inquiries.
On Christmas night, there was not an attendant at the front desk. Instead, there was instructions to dial a specific number. Once I called this number, I asked for a baby crib as I have 6-month old baby that needed a place to sleep. They told me that they only had 1 crib and that it was in use? Earlier in the morning, I verified with the morning staff that there was no children needing a crib in the hotel as I would have my baby with me later that evening. The night attendant was offsite and did not want to do his job and service the customer.
The night before, I was told that the staff could not give out extra pillows. The night attendant shared that there was only 4 rooms being utilized that night. So why could they not give us any extra pillows? Apparently, there is a “policy” that states that a bed cannot have more than 4 pillows per bed. The pillows were flat hence why we needed more on top of having kids with us. Much higher rated and well-renowned hotels give out extra pillows, but the best western plus cannot? It appeared that the attendant was more interested in not doing their work rather than helping the customer, again. I will never stay here again and will not recommend.
