Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Ames, IA

My family of 4 stayed a night while visiting friends in Ames. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful, the location was good, the rooms were clean, bathroom floors could use a little extra scrubbing in the corners of the floor tiles but overall it was great!

Everything was wonderful as usual. We stay every time we are in to see our 2 college kids. Thanks!

Was there for a quick overnight on the way through town and room was clean and comfortable, breakfast on a Thursday morning was just okay, but certainly a great option for one night with the family

No problems with facility, another guest woke us up saying she had a complaint, my fiancee said "okay, go up to the management?" Other than that wonderful place to stay visiting family.

We stayed here over weekend and will not be returning. The staff was super nice but our room was awful. It was nothing the front desk could control but property management/owners needs to invest in this property a bit more! We paid around $150 a night for Room 133 which I don’t consider to be a “cheap” hotel price but immediately smelled musty and was hot when we entered. We tried running the air and it made it smell like wet dog. The paint was peeling off the wall in the bathroom and closet area. Only half the lights worked. There was a dirty coffee cup under our bathroom sink. There were crumbs in the bed. The pool was decent and warm but no towels were ever available so we had to use room towels. Eventually they didn’t have anymore room towels available. The hot tub was closed which the only reason we stayed here because it’s one of few hotels left in Ames with a hot tub. The building itself is extremely outdated and in desperate need of maintenance upgrades. There were kids running the halls knocking on doors and running away at night. There were people lighting off fireworks of the backside of the building.

Overall it was “okay” besides the people from front desk not very friendly it looks like they not happy with their job greeting people and make travelers happy to stop by and have a great experience to make them stop again, anyway probably some others would say I’m wrong because they were very polite and friendly, my point then they decided what people to be nice and friendly? perhaps it was just me and my family not coming at the right time..

We were really disappointed that the hot tub was closed. We had called a week prior to make sure it was available and was told at that time that it was. My family was counting on that as their evening activity.

Overall fine. The bed is hard, but there is a great blackout shade. I slept well despite kids thumping around upstairs thanks to that shade. Not much except other hotels around the place, but it seems like a safe area. The front desk clerk was clueless and slow.

We stayed in a 2 bed with pullout couch. It was perfect for our family! Lots of room. We enjoyed the breakfast the next morning. There was plenty to choose from and one of the best breakfasts we have had at a hotel.

It was a great stay with our family of 6. Very clean rooms, pool and gym - along with very friendly staff. Also, very reasonable rates.
