Doubletree Hotel South Bend

The staff was truly the most accommodating and helpful of any hotel I have been to. The Starbucks on the first level was a definite perk for my family!!

Restaurant was sub-par. Got off the elevator on our floor and there was a terrible smell. Monica machine. Room looked clean enough, but still that smell. Had 2 beds and the one by the window had some type of bed frame/metal sticking out from under it. Could have been dangerous with a child. Just not great at all.

The Doubletree was a great choice for my stay. Conveniently located for a family celebration, I did not have a vehicle. Baker’s restaurant in the facility was convenient and had good food choices at a reasonable price. There were other restaurants near by and the Starbucks in the complex was also appreciated. Open and spacious it was great to move about.

I booked this because of the hot tub and pool. I even called to verify it was functional. Unfortunately upon arrival we learned it has been closed when Covid started! The staff lady in the restaurant that it was appropriate to yell at my wife and throw items! Last year my wife and kids have stayed at over 75 nice hotels and never had a single issue! Traveler be careful before booking at this hotel!!!

As a mom of a one year old, the first thing I do when entering a new environment is “baby proof.” I went into the bathroom and saw trash that looked like a toothbrush wrapper under the sink. Next to it I saw a leather case. I didn’t think anything of it so I threw out the trash and peaked in the case thinking it was something from the hotel. No, it was a used syringe! I’m writing this review to say DO BETTER!! I’m so thankful I checked because if my one year old walked out of the bathroom holding that, I would be doing much more than writing a bad review. I informed the staff and they said they we “so sorry about that.” That’s all. Also, the restaurant that’s open for breakfast there wanted to charge us $15 for ONE BANANA. I just wanted to give my old year old a healthy snack before getting back on the road. Absolutely ridiculous. Not too happy with our stay.

Horrible stay, you’d expect more from a “Hilton!” I will never book here again! Came for a soccer tournament, otherwise I would’ve left as soon as I got to my room. Rooms were dusty and smelly, multiple floors smelled like sewage, bathroom by restaurant was dirty. The restaurant had a limited menu so we didn’t eat there but another family had a very rude server. Parking is $25 and the clearance is so low many SUV’s couldn’t even get into garage. The AC in the room is poorly regulated and does not control the room temp. Ice machines only worked on 3 floors…of a 9 floor hotel! TWO of the families found BED BUGS but the staff tried to say they were cracker crumbs! Lol. They documented with photos….legs and the body can be clearly seen. Check in staff was friendly and the football/soccer turf across the street was nice but that’s about all I can say!

We have visited this property twice and never had any complaints. My family and I enjoyed our stay. Hot tub is closed indefinitely but the pool was nice.

I was first given a room that wasn’t even clean yet! It had trash all in it and in made beds and dirty towels all over the bathroom floor. Was also charged to park in garage for $15. I’m here for a cheer competition due to I’m a coach and my kids also cheer. I apologized too and given a new and clean room. Was also told I would get a refund as well for the inconvenience for the other room. Still haven’t been refunded yet so we shall see what tomorrow brings. Front desk was nice I give them that and it’s a beautiful and big hotel. Just don’t like to be told I would get a refund for walking into a dirty and used room.

Very nice stay…..walking distance to Morris Performing Arts Theatre…..our room wasn’t ready……got an upgrade to a junior suite!

Great room conveniently located for my family’s trip to watch a ND football game. The price was to be expected for such a weekend but we’ll worth it!
