Quality Inn & Suites Mendota near I-39

Cleanliness & upkeep leave a lot to be disired. Seems to run by a family with a few pleasant touches- embroidered fabrics in common areas. But the hallways were dirty & our room was somewhat clean but there was undersirable evidence of hairs & detritus on the white tile bathroom floor. The room had multiple cracks & and dinged plaster all over the place. Towel bar had obviously broken off and was rehung crooked & not patched or painted. We moved a chair over & it fell apart. Multiple stains on sheets ( probably washing in house instead of commercial laundry). Spiderwebs in the corners. Highlight was Cindy’s on 34 next door- Great food, with lots of options as well as being clean, nicely kept up ( looks new) and great staff.

Check in took a while. They wee very strict abou end of breakfast and locked the doors promptly at 9:00. Two families came within 10 minutes and were locked out. A little grace would have been good I do not care for a sign that says dial 0 if no one is at the check in counter.

Property is as good as the price we pay. It may need an upgrade (due to scent in room and minor repairs in bathroom). But overall it’s acceptable. Pool is a plus. It’s heated and with salt water. This was my second stay and plan on going again so I can visit family at camp grounds around the hotel. Great family restaurants near by.

Property had an odd smell. Tiles in bathroom were loose and it was dirty. Remote was not cleaned. Glad it was just one night. My kids loved the oatmealnpies, ding dongs and twinkies foe breakfast....sigh.

I was very impressed by the cleanliness of the hotel and the amenities provided. It had a small pool which my child enjoyed. I highly recommend the stay at this location. McDonald's and Kfc are some dinning options. Gas stations are very closed by as well.
