Comfort Suites Mattoon

Hotel and rooms were clean. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dining area were very good. And the pool area was great for the kids to swim in. Only thing that would have made this hotel even better would be if their elevator (which has been out for over 9 months), had been fixed.

No elevator so if you’re not on the first floor you’re hauling your stuff up a couple flights of stairs. Also, kids were out of control. Running up and down hallways all night banging on doors. Also playing football in the parking lot around all the cars.

The staff were very friendly and helpful! The hotel was clean. The bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately, the elevator is...surprise! Still not working. Being a nurse, who had just worked a 13 hour shift on my feet the entire time, I didn't enjoy climbing 3 flights of stairs to my room. Also, the hot tub jets were still not working. I would have still used it but several kids were playing in it. Overall, decent stay.

This property would not honor my reservation that was paid in full due to some ridiculous rule that I live too close. Sometimes people just need a night away. When I arrived I was turned away even though I had already paid in full. I will never recommend this place to any family or friends coming into town, of which there are many.

Second time staying here in about two weeks visiting family. Rooms are clean. The pool and hot tub are the stars of the hotel. Breakfast is just fine and gave us what we needed to start our day. Elevator is still broken, making it hard to get items up and down with a family of 5. Wi-Fi is unreliable. I had a hard time connecting to internet most times. It was slow when I did connect.

The property was just ok. We got to our room around 10:30pm. I was traveling alone with four children. We walked in the room and immediately the kid said, “this is gross.” The toilet had obviously never been cleaned since the last guest. There was dried up lotion or some other substance on the hard floor. So obviously the floors had not been cleaned. There was hair of all types all over the bathroom. I went down and asked for another room. The front desk clerk gave me another room. The other room was definitely more clean. But not a standard of cleanliness that I would expect from the hotel. There was still hair on the floor. But everything had been cleaned, just not cleaned well.

Made a reservation online. I had gotten an illness at work and have a 5 week old baby at home. Was staying in a hotel to avoid giving my baby an illness. When i arrived to check in i was told they could not rent a room to me because i had a local address. So i was left to find me accommodations at 10pm. If that's your policy it should be stated and checked prior to booking the room. Ridiculous policy.

This place wonderful. Big room, comfortable beds , perfect for family with kids.Great price and receptionist. All excellent service. Thank you very much . We "ll be back..
