Front desk gave us a room on the same floor as a wedding party that didn’t stop until 3AM. Slamming doors, screaming kids, arguments, and loud noise all night. The hotel did absolutely nothing to prevent the noise.

Front desk staff arent great. We arrived at 3:50pm on Wednesday with a 4pm check in. When we arrived they said our room wasnt ready yet and could put us in an "upgraded junior suite". We went up to this room and it was indeed smaller than the room we originally booked. Not sure what they were trying to do there. We came back down and requested the room we booked and we would wait. They then said it would be AT LEAST an hour. At this point it was 4:05pm. We said we would wait at the bar. We got a drink and before we even had a sip of said drink, the front desk came by with our room key. So what was at least an hour became 5 min. It was clear they wanted us to take the smaller room for some reason. What the reason was is unclear.

Always my first choice of where to stay when visiting family in Chicago. From the friendly front desk (welcome after the long drive in) to the comfortable and clean rooms, to the nice breakfast, a stay never disappoints. Really like the new, remodeled rooms and architecture.

The phone cord was cut off. Legit cut. Stains on the towels. Hand prints in the shower and then the power went out in the entire building as everyone was trying to get ready to check out. Imagine showering in that. Like what kind of place is this. It looked nice but if we didn't arrive so late with kids I would have asked for a refund immediately upon arrival. It was midnight almost and too late with kids to go somewhere else

It's always a pleasure staying at the Renaissance in Northbrook, IL. Love the redecorating and new breakfast area. Staff is friendly, accommodating, and professional. This is our first choice when visiting Chicago for family.

Terrible uncomfortable chairs/furniture in rooms. No lobby to meet and visit family & friends (underconstruction), and no pool area. Lighting poor in rooms. Refrigerator too small, and no microwave in room. Windows need cleaning. Staff friendly and try to accommodate. Shower stall needs safety bars. Toilet paper roll dispenser mounted too low and not easily accessed. No COVID health & safety protocols in place (no masks). Limited restaurant (breakfast in ballroom, no lunch service or room food service). Gift shop food items very limited.

After 3 1/2 months of surgeries & rehab, I thought I was ready to drive 2 1:3 hours to my hometown & enjoy.
Arrived in more pain & weaker than anticipated, & ended up in room alone for 3 days.
Nobody wants to be looked at like an invalid. But I needed my cane, and was astonished by the attentions of an unbelievably courteous and caring staff.
The man who left his desk to bring in my luggage, the wonderful restaurant staff (that extended hours so I & another family could have breakfast AND TOLD ME NOT TO RUSH! The kind staff that cleaned the efficiently rooms.
Everyone called be by name. When I went downstairs to get something for the room, I was told I shouldn't have come down; they would've brought it up to me. At a time when I bristle at the national meanness these data, this really caring, considerate, and accommodating staff relly made such a difference--changing sadness to an overall heartwarming experience.

Was a wonderful getaway for a family mini-stay-cation. We enjoyed the room, the pool, the restaurant, and the service! Definitely recommended.

I booked two queen beds. But they put me into 524 and it only has one queen bed. I went downstairs and showed them my reservation and asked them to switch to a two queen beds room. They said it’s all sold out and told me to use the sofa as a bed. I said I booked two queen bed for a reason, me and my kids needed two beds to sleep on, not a sofa. They then put me into a king bed and made it sound like I got a deal. But it was pretty terrible, I couldn’t sleep with three people in one bed. Also, I can hear the tv next door. There is also a man that kept coughing and sneezing right next to my room in the hallway around my room which is creepy and annoying. Also, I purchased breakfast when I booked the reservation but the hotel insisted I didn’t. They then gave me breakfast vouchers and made it sound like they give it to me for free when I paid for them.
