I actually liked the place once I arrived in the spacious double queen room area. Our balcony overlooking the little rapids had the sounds of birds, geese, and water flowing over the boulders. Fun to watch tubers ride the little rapids for the first time. We sat in the rocking chairs on our balcony and played cards and truly relaxed. This was so much better than staying on the main road where all you here is traffic and noise. Out here it was really peaceful. Yes, the rooms were clean and so were all the areas. Breakfast was just perfect with scrambled eggs, real potatoes, diced, and tasty links. There were many other choices of hot foods, bread, and fruit. We were really close to all the activities and especially Dollywood. This would be a good family place as there are two TVs and also a nice place to walk around.

This hotel is all about location. it has a lot of potential, as it is very charming and its historical significance cannot be overlooked. The rooms were fairly clean and the atmosphere was interesting. It sure seemed to me like their queen size beds were actually doubles sold to me as queens.

Ultimately, what this hotel is missing is a trained professional staff that participate in coordinated service to their customers. At this price it is an expectation. Although my family did not get to participate in the manager’s reception, I did hear good things about this offering.
If you’re looking for a hotel that is close to the action in the historic district of Savannah, and you don’t need to be pampered in anyway whatsoever, this is your hotel.

The Inn owners have carefully merchandized the property with creative use of photos and overstated descriptors that imply a luxury experience, one that they clearly feel worthy of premium pricing. Once there, you see an historic gem with untapped potential. From the start, engaging with the front desk, you encounter idle, rigid interaction. The concierge vibe is absent. Especially with the younger staff. As a first example, we arrive at 4:30, one half hour after check-in. A young woman was flatly telling a lobby full of guests that NONE of their rooms were ready with no real explanation, apology, accommodation. These folks were told they could, "Just leave your bags right there, and I'll try to keep an eye on them." Her explanation of what was happening was vague at best -- cold, flat, "Sorry, Charlie," in nature. The guests were perfectly polite. This tone of disinterest lasted the whole visit. A final example would include an exchange from our last day, which was Saturday, when we would be checking out at 11AM. At about 7AM, there was a heavy, sharp slam against our bedroom wall, jolting us upright. We soon realized our neighbors were letting their kids to jump on/off the furniture, tossing the furniture each other around, screaming and squealing at the top of their lungs. My husband went to clerk to ask for light intervention. He was told zero could be done as it was time for people to be getting up. We had to handle. Valet and bartender were the only pros. More @Yelp.

Great stay. Nice hotel. Decent price. Valet was $45 per night which we used but there was a parking deck that valet mentioned for $15 that we could have used. Free hot chocolate, marshmallows, chocolates, etc. which the kids enjoyed. The location is absolutey fantastic!

Property was very nice, but fan in room was filthy and full of dust. We couldn't even use it.
Then our last night there, my daughter was going to bed and a huge roach crawled up the wall from her pillow. This is not acceptable for a $400 a night room. The hotel also charged me an additional $50 hotel fee for wifi. Are you kidding me??

This hotel is beautiful and redone very well. The location is great, right on River Street with so much in walking distance. The room was huge, with plenty of space and decorations that were both modern and reminiscent of the past.
I do have some cons however. Upon checking in, the service was not great. I have gold status on hotels.com and was supposed to get a free drink per person, but the person at the desk looked at me like I was crazy. She did figure it out while checking in the guest after me (I was still in the lobby thankfull) and it turns out the free drink was a snack or soda. At most hotels, the free drink is an alcoholic drink which is worth significantly more than a bag of chips.
Additionally, we asked for a cot about three times before we actually got a cot. With such a huge room, I do not know why the room had a queen bed. I sleep in a queen bed at home and just really want to sleep in a king bed on vacation (additionally I have a toddler who wants to sleep with me).
The hotel does have a happy hour from 5-7 with free drinks and little bites. The person who ran this was so nice and friendly to all of the guests. She gave us a drink even though it was 7:02 and most places shut down their happy hour precisely at 7. She made our stay much better!

Lasted 1 minute. Checked in, went to room and room smelled musty, to make matters worse, rock music reverberating through the wall from adjacent establishment. Disaster because I relied on other reviews, flew family in from Phoenix for a reunion and had to book rooms last minute at another hotel.

We booked a last minute stay for our family of 4. We we’re greated by smiling faces and a very easy check in. We even received a bottle of bubbles since we missed the complementary drinks and snacks that ended at 7. The location was so nice and allowed us to walk to so many shops and restaurants. We loved Cafe M in the moring for coffee and pastries and it was right next door. The young men working valet were also very kind and helpful. The room was comfortable and even though we were on the city side the windows seemed to be sound proofed enough that the noise from the street was not bad. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were newly updated and very clean. Overall we had an excellent stay and would recommend.

Good location and right on river street. You can walk to all the great areas of shops and restaurants. City views are looking out your window into the driveway. Don’t stay on the 3rd floor or lower. Downtown area is not for little kids. Many people smoking pot and bums at night
