Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Augusta-Washington Rd

The milk served with breakfast was spoiled. It’s not that it was out of date. But nonetheless it was spoiled and I ended up drinking a swallow of it. There was a young child that had some before me and the ladies fixing the breakfast area. Did not bother to remove the rest of the milk.

While the property wasn't bad, much of the areas my family and i were in, smelled of mold and mildew. The lobby leaked from the ceiling and only one working elevator. There didn't appear to be any urgency or apologies for the unsightlyness.

The hotel was very nice, updated and clean! Great sitting areas, very nice outside area for the family. My girls enjoyed the pool while we relaxed watching the outdoor tv.

I loved the room. It was modern nice. However, when I pulled the sheets back at 10:30pm before bed, I found a bed bug and it's skin it shed on the lower skirt that covers the box spring. I took a picture. I grabed the plastic bag sitting on the ice bucket and caught the bug. I examined around the whole bed and the other bed short of flipping the box spring and didn't see anything else. But, where's there 1 there's more I'm sure . I went to the lobby and shown the clerk the bug. He moved me from room 425 to 403. I examined that room and felt ok but still uncomfortable. I slept with the bathroom light on all night. I did Not have an exceptional time staying in that hotel. It was late and I was tired or I would have left for a different hotel. I traveled with family and they were in room 430. My Niece was so freaked out she wouldn't sleep in the bed with her 5 yr old daughter. She slept in the chair holding her daughter all night. I had the shake out all my clothes, examine my suitcase, and wash everything to insure I don't have and stow aways to bring home. I'm not keen on staying in a hotel again. I included the pic. The bug was trying to hide in the corner seam. You can see the shedded skin in the pic as well.

I am a very tolerant person, but I found the staff to be remarkably rude during the limited interactions I had with them. The concierge had earbuds in and acted annoyed that he couldn’t hear me until he took them out. Then he was rude, asking me what I needed, as if it was strange that I would be walking up to check in. My kids were interested in swimming, but the pool light was strobing on and off in a very annoying and impossible to ignore way so we decided to pass. Once in the room it seemed clean until we noticed the floors were absolutely filthy and our feet were black on the bottom. Then when checking out the staff stared at us dumbly as we handed over the key cards and waited until we were several steps away before asking us for our room number in an unfriendly way. I decided on Hampton Inn amongst the other comparable hotels in the area, but after such a poor experience I’ll be choosing another option in the future.
