Residence Inn by Marriott Tampa Sabal Park/Brandon

For the money the hotel was okay. I really liked the full kitchen and the front desk staff was truly exceptional. Every single one of them were great. The location was good as well. The room was surface clean, but it was extremely dusty and dirty behind anything. Even the very large space behind the TV that is easily cleanable. There were bug wings on our bedside table, and behind the bedside table and behind the bed was extremely disgusting and look like it had never been cleaned. Very easy to get a vacuum hose behind there so I don't understand why that isn't addressed. A huge safety concern are the windows. We were on the third floor with the toddler who was able to open the window. Thankfully, my husband and I were right there with him because we keep a very close eye on him being a boy, he likes to get into a lot of things. But he was able to open the window since it was left unlocked, there was no screen, and the window actually opened. God forbid him, or a smaller child fall out of the window. I really could not believe that there were no screens on the window, and that they opened in the first place. I've never been to a hotel that had working windows for this exact safety reason. Breakfast was not great at all. Hardly any healthy options, and the sausage was literally gray. The lady at breakfast who was supervising was kinda rude. There was mold in the hot water pitcher, the bed was comfortable, but the linens were very rough and scratchy

Staff was friendly. Place was nice, rooms were big, breakfast was pretty good. Enjoyed my stay as well as my family.

The staff member Victoria that checked me in was very rude to me in front of my children. She told me my card was declined, and she was having a very hard time explaining it to me. She seemed quite frustrated and it seems that the card was declined from Expedia and then she was trying to get me to pay again. It was just a whole total mess and I understand things happen but she treated me and Employee that came in very rudely. I will not return here.

I booked the room for 2 nights. called the manager and mentioned that I will be late checking in. However, due to unavoidable reasons, I checked in the next day. The manager simply told me that because i did not check in on day 1, my reservation got cancelled and I need to reserve again with Expedia. I had to wait with my toddler for 15 mins at the front to get an expedia personnel on phone, all other people were without any mask and I felt unsafe standing at the front for that long. the manager also appeared to be very unwelcoming. I booked a studio with a king size bed, I was given a studio with a queen bed, totally irresponsible act by the manager. the next morning as I woke up, I found a large cockroach running away from my luggage which is totally unacceptable. when I went to eat breakfast, there was only yogurt, and muffin and people were waiting in line to get their sandwich. I asked for 3, the lady gave me 2, I waited almost 30 mins to get what i needed. I always try to pick residency inn wherever I go due to the room set up they offer (studio), however, this was the worst experience I ever had with this hotel chain. even my toddler child while leaving kept saying, mummy I said bye to the guy, he did not smile at me. you can imagine the level of engagement the manager has with his clients.
