We stayed at the Comfort inn and Suites during the Hurrican Helene evacuation. We chose this hotel due to it's close and easy to drive location to the Tampa airport without being in the downtown area and also not directly near the airport. The location for us was perfect. All of the staff we encountered there were extremely helpful and kind. The room appeared to be freshly updated with new flooring and paint, possibly a new counter in the bathroom. There were still portions of the room that were dated such as the bathtub and the a/c. The a/c worked and kept the room cool enough but didn't really circulate air that well. It was very stuffy in the room soon after the air would turn off. The one thing I will say is that when we walked into the room it smelled as if we had just jumped into a pool of air freshener. The perfumy scent was overwhelming. It was also in the hallways of the hotel. If you are sensitive to scents or perfumes then this is not the hotel for you. I almost asked to check out after walking in, thankfully the scent seemed to dissipate after the first day. I did notice that, since we checked out straight from that hotel to go home, our clothing and other soft items smelled like the perfumy scent of the rooms. We spent a good amount of time at the pool which was well maintained. The free breakfast was your standard free breakfast, but my kids did get a kick out of the make your own waffle situation. Overall, for the price, this hotel was great.

The check in was quick and easy but when we went to our room there was a roach in the shower and when we opened the pull out bed we found roaches crawling out, I talked to 2 different people that night and they said there were no other rooms available as if another room would be ok, if there is roaches in 1 room there has to be roaches else where. I said I was ok for the night cause it was late and they said there would be a manager in the morning. I went to check out and I asked the guy for a manager he said not till 12, I explained my situation about the roaches and he said " Mam we live in Florida its expected, we know we have them. I said well then take care of it, its called exterminator. He didn't care about anything I had to say. Mind you another family left that night for the same reason. So just be prepared to sleep with roaches.

There was nothing to like about this hotel. The pictures online are very misleading inside and outside it reeked of cigarettes. It was hot AC was down to 65 in the room and it was hot. It reeked of mold and urine. There were stains all over the couch, which I know in no hotel they’re really very clean, but that was disgusting And just to top it off $260 and it was nonrefundable. We left after about eight minutes got me and my husband and my kids out of there. They should be ashamed of themselves.

I didn’t like that they locked the front doors after a certain time and only had a nighttime window bc that gave an impression of an unsafe area. Also, they are supposed to do housekeeping after 3 days and I called to remind them and it still wasn’t done. However, front desk staff did resolve issue fast and were friendly about it. Also having an adult toy store right across from location isn’t exactly ideal for family vacation so I def wouldn’t stay there again but staff were always friendly from check in to check out.

This was the worst stay ever for our family with a Comfort Suite, bad enough that it will probably be our last.It started with keying into our initial reserved room, to find someone there already (was told they were not assigned to it, yet they had a key). That should have been a warning. Human errors happen..but...Beds in a double Queen suite were shoved against the air conditioning system on one side, wall for the other. Beds were very old and worn out. One sloped to the left bad, the other to the center. Pillows were horrible/old. Bathroom walls and ceiling had black mold, Jetted tub would not work without jiggling the switch around, shower head was a cheap plastic head, barely holding on with some tape. The rooms were too small to be a "suite" as paid extra for. The one day we tried to stay in and rest, the pool was closed (without a notice as to why), and the fire alarms kept chirping. As for Maintenance, they just made a passive aggressive remark about customers not knowing how to use the tubs (the wall switch should not be that loose!). The Clerks offer for these things were to be moved to another room. Which, we had another for our daughter already, and hers was the same. She ended up having to leave a day early herself..without any sleep due to the smoke detectors going off. The clerk just said it was happening in some rooms. She wrote a note on a sticky pad for management to apply credits...I wont hold my breath. This use to be our go to hotel, not anymore

This hotel stay was just a place to sleep (family of 5) before going to a theme park the next day. We did not stay there for more than 12 hours. The hotel served its purpose. It was clean, beds were comfortable, free breakfast was okay but crowded, staff was friendly, and we were able to sleep 5 in the standard room (2 queens and pull out couch) at a decent price. There was an extra sink by the small refrigerator and microwave which was helpfull with 5 people and 1 bathroom. The hotel overall is very dated, but I have no major complaints. Would I choose to stay there again? For the same type of trip, yes. But for anything more than a few days, probably not.

Hotel staff was friendly. It was very clean kids loved the pool. Worst part about the whole stay is that the whole 4th floor smelled of weed the Whole 5 days we stayed. So either there was a guest staying just as long as us and smoked alot of staff was smoking somewhere there. Either way you only smelled it in the halls our room was great.

Wonderful staff. Very courteous and accommodating . Bedding and linens were clean but the walls and floors were gross. Prostitutes were all over the place in the halls and lobby. Loud parties in adjacent rooms. Woken up in the middle of the night by staff kicking out a prostitute across the hall. Do not stay here with children.
