My sister and her family met mine for a long weekend. We have 4 kids under 10years. The beach access is incredible, but having only one pool the kids could enjoy was tough. We had to find other things to do to change things up a bit. The property is beautiful. We had a relaxing time.

Not a 5-star property. Apartment-style rooms; while it was nice to have more space, the room was very tired. A/C didn't work, terrible smell of mildew when we got back to the room one night, a light fixture just fell off the wall, with no warning. Spa was just okay. Didn't feel very high-end at all. Also has a ton of residences, so there seemed to be a lot of people in their 70s and 80s with grandchildren visiting. Food at The Strand was average. We had a dinner that cost $250., and we had NO DRINKS. WAY overpriced for thequality. Manager was very nice, though, when I let him know about all of the issues in our room.

Everything was great except they don’t have a pool for kids 11-17 years old. They have a pool for small children and an adult pool and are very strict about who is allowed to use the adult 18 and over pool. Also they close the pools at 6pm which is when it’s finally bearable to be outdoors in Miami in August. Same with the beach chairs and umbrellas.

Property has direct access to the beach, rooms and property was very clean, staff were very nice. Front desk service was excellent specially Sheneika was very helpful to my family!! The optional upgrade for room were not available but she managed to give us alternative options. The amenities were great, and we have enjoyed the rock climbing, and the wellness for the adult. The only exception was the outdoor swimming pool and jacuzzi close at sunset time. There are multiple pools in the property but only one accessible to the hotel guests. Restaurant and grocery stores are located near the property and there wasn’t need for driving or taking rides.

Overall, we had a very positive experience and will likely stay at this resort again. My only gripe was that the daily room cleaning service was not up to par. The cleaning lady did not clean the tub during our stay, this was evident by the soap and grime watermark in the tub so I had to clean it myself; she also left a cleaning agent in the bathroom which was a problem b/c my 1 year old was on the trip with us; and she forgot to take out the trash which my husband had to. If this weren’t a family trip, I’d be fine with these hiccups.

We liked the beach, gym and climbing wall. What was not disclosed was that with a family with kids, we would only have access to one pool, as two pools were for residents only, one pool was for adults only, gym was for adults only. Restaurant was overpriced, the residents would not even eat there.
