Kimpton Fitch Lodge, an IHG Hotel

The staff at the front desk was incredible. We contacted them about a late check in due to travel delays . They meet at 12:15 at night with a smile and friendly atmosphere. They even found us a parking space at 1:00 in the morning, drving me back to the hotel for safety. They made the stay for me and my family perfect.

I was disappointed. We had 4 rooms booked for 3 nights for a total of 8 friends and family. We were split between the two facilities (with a poor excuse as to why we couldn't be all together on the one side). We had to cross a very busy road with no crosswalk and to be quite frank - it was dangerous crossing that road to get to the side where our family members were. We have frequently stayed in Kimpton Properties (Denver, Chicago, Palm Springs, Seattle, Salt Lake City) and have always been impressed with the level of service and how clean and welcoming these hotels were. I felt the Kimpton Fitch did not come anywhere close to the Kimpton Brand. Customer service was poor. We checked in and were split between two facilities (even though people checked in after us and were given rooms in the main location). We left our luggage at Concierge until our rooms were ready. The front desk employee assured me someone was always at the front desk. We came back to check-in, nobody at front desk. We hunted someone down. at least 3 or 4 occasions when nobody was at front desk. The rooms were decorated very nicely, but the bathrooms didn't look spotless (some left over hair in the shower). One bedroom door didn't close properly - we had to jiggle it to make sure it locked, A/C units were extremely noisy. No daily happy hour that we have seen at the other Kimpton Hotels and when we asked about it - they gave us some wine from a cooler and then charged our rooms another $90.
