Home2 Suites By Hilton Destin

Coming from a family of four with 2 small children and being our first time in Destin this location was great. This location was convenient to a lot of restaurants, stores, and entertanment. Plus it was a short walk to the Beach. This hotel was clean and staff were all friendly and welcoming. The suite also had everything we needed to be at home away from home. We will definitely stay at this location again.

The rooms were great, enough space for a family of five and furry friends with a crate!

Home2 Suites??? More like give your room away and take half of your money without any contact. Check-in was for 4PM, arrived around 9PM. Upon arrival, I checked in at the front desk and they said that my room had been canceled and given away. I called twice earlier in the day to assure that accommodations were still available. Half of the balance for the stay was already withdrawn from my checking account. The woman at the front desk said that they transferred my stay to the Hampton Inn around the corner. All of this happened without any contact with me. Highly dissatisfied with Home2 Suites, I will never book with them again. Almost turned my family vacation into a nightmare.

The room was average with a kitchenette included. We stayed 6 nights - but when we rolled down the comforter to our bed on the first night, the bed sheets and pillowcases had stains on them. Gross! We ended up getting clean sheets at the front desk and changed them ourselves. The room was average, but we liked the kitchenette and the partial view of the ocean. The beach was 1/4th mile away and so we walked the beach every day of our stay. We booked this hotel particularly for their pool and that it was reported as "kid" friendly . . . but their pool was closed for repair the week we were there. There was no mention of this on their booking page and so we considered it a MAJOR INCONVENIENCE. I'm sure there is a disclaimer about this on their web page yet it would have been nice to know before we booked. We were there in March, so Ocean swimming was too cold for young children. They did give us an option of swimming in their sister hotel's pool at the Hampton Inn 1/4th mile away for which we took advantage. Frankly, the staff at the Hampton were not very cordial and I think we were considered an inconvenience when we went to swim there. This added to our disappointment for the week. Breakfast fare was decent.

Home2 Suites in Destin was great!! We enjoyed our stay this past week. The hotel is within walking distance of the public beach access point down the road and a few restaurants. The pool and patio areas were well kept and clean. The only negative thing we experienced was not getting our room cleaned when requested for the following day (policy was to request at least a day in advance). A week is a long time to have three children and food crumbs and no room cleaning.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! Ive had nearly $400 tied up because they wont refund what they charged me even though i paid in full through hotels.com. they claimed i had to just put it was a hold on my card like a security deposit. NOPE. Stayed May 13th, its now June 1st, still no refund. Have gone round and round the manager stating my refund it pending- well it was, now they've canceled it again and i dont have the money in my bank! Not to mention its the worst Home2 ive ever stayed at. This was for a family trip- i usually stay at these while traveling for work so i thought id be a good choice. Boy was i wrong. Dirty room, terrible customer service, and the blinds were so damaged i could hardly close them. Not to mention the soap was empty and they do not provide conditioner??? 0 out of 5 if i could. STAY AWAY

Room is big and spacious. Had freeze, microwave, cutlery etc. Pool was smaller than what appears on pics. Location was excellent. 5 min walking distance to beach and very close to tons of resultants. Walmart is close by too. Service was bad. Asked to get room cleaned and they said they are done for today and they asked us to come back again next day. When I went there next day they said they are already booked today for room cleaning and can’t take any more request. It appears if you don’t go there during narrow window your room will not get cleaned. We went to beach everyday and with 2 little kids you can imagine how dirty room can get. Asked for clean towels and they said they don’t have any more clean towels. During breakfast they ran out of milk, coffee and bread. They had only guy doing everything and trying really hard but was constantly lagging behind. I felt sorry for him. If this was cheap motel I would have neglected this but they charged like 5-star resort for Memorial Day weekend but provide very poor service.

My family really loved this hotel. This was actually our second time staying. It was fairly priced compared to other hotels in the area. It was walking distance to the beach (we could actually see a glimpse of the ocean from our room (328)). We were right across the street from seafood restaurants and just minutes away from Destin Commons shopping center. It is in the heart of Destin. They have a heated swimming pool opened until 11pm, coffee/tea/hot cocoa served all day, and snacks available for purchase. Breakfast was free and delicious. Wifi was free and the rooms were spacious with plenty of storage to completely unpack for your trip. We loved it so much, this is where we will stay each time we visit.

The staff was not friendly and approachable. They didn’t have much food nor food selections. They constantly ran out of a lot during the entire stay. No drinks were available a lot of the time because they were waiting on a truck and kept saying that everything morning. We requested fresh blankets and they told us they didn’t have any because there were a lot of guest. My family and I wouldn’t stay here again.
