A common problem with Florida coastal hotels is moisture, mildew, or mold… a nightmare for allergy and asthma sufferers. My family switched hotels three times to finally find the perfect fit with the Hyatt Place in Lakewood Ranch. The hotel was clean in appearance AND smell, the complimentary breakfast was a good variety, location and exterior lighting were safe, and all the amenities were in service. For example, the pool and fitness center were open and clean.

Room service said they would be back to clean our room on our 2nd day and never came back, and didn’t come to the room until our 4th day. Other than that, it was a comfortable stay for our family.

It was a family trip to a soccer tournament. Room rates were crazy, but to make it worse, the operations manager, Michael, at the front desk was far from helpful and kind during check-in. The bad attitude and service made the check-in experience unpleasant, taking over an hour to resolve an issue. He wanted to charge us for a no-show despite my call to make changes, which I had proof of. Long story short, people like Michael should not be dealing with customers if the hotel wants to retain them. I’ll definitely not go back to the Hyatt at Lakewood again.

Loved staying here, I felt so welcomed by the friendly staff. Breakfast had its regular items and rotating which was so nice for my toddler!

Nelson was absolutely awesome to do business with, he was beyond friendly and professional while dealing with a lobby full of kids eating dinner and a bar full od patrons. He was calm the entire time even when it was getting loud and rambunctious. That young man deserves to be applauded

Although I booked and paid in full 1 month prior to my stay, they cancelled my stay at 8pm by email after check in time, saying they were overbooked. 1 month they kept my money and were unable to see they were overbooked??? The hotel and Expedia left me without assistance, Expedia call center systematically hanging up due to "high call volume". I was alone with my elderly mom and my child until midnight without any hotel until I found one 30 minutes away for double of the price, everything at my cost. Neither Expedia nor the hotel took any responsibility for leaving us without a stay. Shameful practices!

Staff lacked any sense of hospitality or customer service. I waited over an hour after check in to get my room key as the room was yet to be inspected, though I watched front desk staff spend a large amount of time just socializing. A large little league softball team was staying there at the hotel the same night. Several kids were running and screaming in the hallways while unsupervised as well as knocking and banging on my room door throughout the afternoon and evening. Staff did nothing to resolve the problem or offer a discount due to the inconveniences. They just gave me an email address to complain too.
