The hotel is good. Well located. Sadly, we had a disappointing experience in the restaurant with the waitress JC, who was really rude with my sister and mom during breakfast service. He definitely messed with our engagement celebration moment as a family.

The YOTEL is a great property for individual travelers or couples in D.C. to see the sights. If you're a close knit family of four you can make it work, but it will be very tight. The double room we had was small but clean and very efficient. You can't open the bathroom door if the closet door is open.
The best part was the pool and the location. The hotel is in very close proximity (10 minute walk) to Union Station and the Capitol.
The pool felt like something you'd experience at a much higher end hotel brand. The water appeared a little cloudy at first but we took our chances and dove in. Perfect temp. We had a blast on the rooftop whilw waiting to check in at 4pm.
The rooftop pool is very glamorous and the food at the pool is reasonably priced. However, we were disappointed that I was able to order food at the pool one day and the very next day told that they don't serve food at the pool, even though several food menus were right between me and the bartenders as they said this.
Our window blinds were stuck closed but there wasn't much of a view.
We really liked the adjustable beds and other state of the art room features. My kids loved the colored backlights around the TV. But the holes in our sheets gave us pause. Also, there could have been more outlets in the room. And only one chair at the tiny table made it so three of us had to eat in bed. I also would have liked a digital clock so I wouldn't have to find my phone (plugged in across the room) to tell time.

We booked for 2 adults and 1 child (12 y). We selected the option full breakfast. The first morning, we were told that breakfast was only for the two adults, so we had to share 2 plates. Afterwards, we talked to the front desk and got it settled. The amount allowed is 23$ (farmer’s breakfast which includes 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon and roasted potatoes, one toast, and one coffee or orange juice. One morning, I wanted to take a less expensive choice and they only accepted after I argued. Union Station is 5 min away, so you can get a more diversified breakfast at a much lower cost. Really annoying to have to fight your way through breakfast every morning.

The staff at the pool, specifically the bartenders, mainly the female bartender was rude and disrespectful. The service was poor. I'd hate to say my race, but maybe was cause for discrimination?? I definitely did not feel welcomed, was absolutely disregarded and unattended, even when I asked to be helped. I will not be returning or recommending this to any of my friends and family.

The pool was charming. It had more of a hip vibe than a family vibe. The service was extremely slow at the pool bar and restaurant. The beds were comfortable and the room design is efficient. The shower was average.

As VIP member I should have received a room upgrade. Instead, I got a basic room with view at AC systems and when I mentioned it to the management, I received no response.
Secondly, we were arriving 1 hour prior to check in. I called the front desk asked if we can check in earlier as we have 2 little kids (2 and 4yo) and lady on the phone wanted to charge me $55 for early check in. So YOTEL you getting one star from me for such simple gesture that you don’t offer your guests of complimentary early check in if room is available.
Lastly, they charge $35 per day for amenities such as coffee (in the hallway) and water. The coffee machine wasn’t working, I had to call the front desk so they can recalibrate coffee maker and wait 30 minutes. The pool was closed because it’s not a season. So they charge $35 per day for things they don’t have.
For family of 4 we only were given 2 towels. Had to wait for hours to get extra towels as they said they understaffed.

Super modern hotel with unique tastes. Highlights include large rooms, adjustable bed, and adjustable LED mood lighting. The only “problem” is that it is quite a bit of a walk (15 mins) if you wanted to go towards downtown or to the center of National Mall. Not too big of an issue, unless you’re traveling back at night, in which you’ll have to pass a homeless shelter. We felt safe however, but always good to be observant and cautious, especially traveling with kids. On the other hand, the location is very close to the Capital (if you wanted to rope drop it), as well as Union Station (which is helpful for any trains going out of town). The hotel is very self-managed, with check ins and check outs done at a kiosks, so we barely talked to anyone during our stay. Overall, 8/10, would definitely stay there again.

Nice hotel overall. Located near capital and national mall. Dining options on the area are extremely limited, and on site restaurant menu is very limited with no kids menu. Hotel parking is very expensive compared to other garages nearby.

I was thrilled with how the front desk agents treated me. I felt welcomed and like it was family. While I was visiting I was upgraded and even extended my stay and they did not make me change rooms as it was for only one night. The place is cool and fresh and fun. I will say the only one issue I had was at 12 am for two nights there was construction or a dumpster that kept running back and forth behind but it was only two nights is did the that other two everything was fine. I did complain and they offered to move me immediately but I said I’ll stay. They were great and I felt very safe at this hotel. Thank you guys for this much needed break from the guy that works five jobs.

For the price, the hotel was good. Small room, but clean and comfy bed. There was a noise every 5 minutes apparently from the AC that we ended up getting used to and we kinda ignored it. Other family stayed in other rooms and they had similar noise. The configuration of the shower and toilet was odd, so was the lighting control. But the buffet across the street at the Hyatt was good.
