Had a lovely stay with family to tour local colleges. Right around the corner are Tatte for excellent breakfasts / coffees and Rasika, likely the best high-end Indian restaurant in Washington DC. Across the street is a Walgreens for anything you might be missing or couldn’t bring on the plane (sunscreen!) Staff at the front desk were super friendly and helpful. I was able to borrow a broom to get my hips back into alignment, which likely wasn’t on the front desks bingo card that day. But no worries, they made it all happen with a smile, just like our checkin. The room was very clean and well maintained. If there is one improvement opportunity it’s the HVAC system, which clattered quite a bit as it operated in room 415. Also, I’m not sure who thought it was a good idea to set it to 64*F, which is a bit chilly. But none of these issues takes away from the nice time we had. The location, staff and room were great.

I give them 3 stars for a couple of reasons. First one is the parking when we got there at 4pm was full had to park about 3 blocks away and were charge $50 a day. Second pool was close and we were not told until we were checking in so my kids were not happy. Last reason is in the morning at the front desk there was no coffee and the lemonade had zero sugar and there was no sugar at the front at all. In other words it was water with a piece of lemon. My business partners and I were not happy for what we pay,

The property and rooms were excellent. The hotel staff were friendly and conscientious. The restaurant staff at the attached Chef Geoff’s were not so great. I asked for a table for 4 and was told it was an hour wait. The host I spoke to was dismissive and rude. After waiting and returning an hour later, the situation wasn’t much better. Appetizers and a kid’s meal were delivered before our drinks finished coming to the table. If you don’t want children in your restaurant, don’t offer a kid’s menu. If you don’t want kids waiting, add a ‘make a reservation online’. Apparently, parents should only eat in their rooms… wouldn’t come back.

My family was comfortable it was clean. Parking was expensive but needed because there is not a lot of street parking. Plenty of places to eat in walking distance.

I rarely review anything but I had to write a review for this place. To start with the hotel is average and not at all worth the price. The “pool” is practically a kiddie pool and you can’t stay there long because they vent propane or gas exhaust out from the laundry. The smell is horrible & noxious! I booked on Expedia and when I checked in they charged $276 extra. First they said it was for a security deposit then they said they would drop that but we had to pay $60 per night for garage parking. Then when we checked out on the bill they had $70 per night for parking plus an additional $12.80 parking tax! I complained and the attendant said it was cause we had an oversized vehicle. Then we pointed to the sign right on their desk that said cars were $50, oversized were $60. He says “oh ok well I’ll give you $30 off, $10 a night for 3 nights.” I said “ We were here 4 nights!” He’s like “oh okay.” But still I ended up paying over $300 more than Expedia said it would be. And I guarantee you they do this upbilling ALL THE TIME! Because the woman in front of me who was checking out was complaining because they had billed her twice for over a thousand dollars! So avoid this place!! They just seem to be in a practice of overcharging. Also it’s like the whole place tries to compete with the high hotels in the area but it’s just very average rough around the edges rooms with springs for beds and very pricey for what you get plus shady unfair billing practices!! Avoid!!
