Hotel Hygge

Heads up travelers - this place may be the sad future of budget motels. No people here. E-mail check-in only and gives you a room door E-lock code. Very small, though clean rooms with the sterile efficient feel of a space station cubicle. Not that I know a space station, but feels weird. As I write this review I think there are 4 rooms occupied total and one is next to me with a crying baby. Nothing against kids, my own never slept very well but the walls are thin. Can't figure out the heater controls, the TV has no channel guide, bathroom designed to be modern stylish has no counters and a crazy black and white tile pattern that makes me dizzy. I think this place is an experiment funded by venture capitalists that might work in a busy crowded megalopolis, but Buellton CA ?! It is adequate and in good condition, and since the price is right I guess we will see more of these touchless motels. At least an AI voice did not greet me when I figured out the code and let myself in.
