It was rainy and cold. The room temperature was too low (they set it). I didn't sleep all night. It was too cold. My child caught a cold. I complained for two days but they ignored me. The shower water pressure was too low and slow. The service attitude was very bad. I don't recommend choosing this hotel!

I give this place 1 star because of its great location: safe; top of Nob Hill with great view and easy access to cable car, Chinatown, etc.
I booked one night stay to meet my family member there but I was not able to check in: they overbooked and didn’t have a room to offer. I was sent to a lower tier hotel near Fisherman’s Wharf. I was very disappointed. Their system and management seem going downhill, like certain part of the city.

I go to San Francisco almost every year on business, and sometimes for pleasure, and I've stayed in more than a dozen hotels. This is the best. Perfectly located, friendly, unpretentious, efficient, casual and stylish. The owners have wonderfully transformed a suit-and-tie kind of business hotel into a relaxed family place where grateful guests find themselves surrounded by cabin attendants from KLM and JAL. I stayed there last year, and was impressed and refreshed; I took three family members this year and was even more stunned. I'll be back!

The old adage you get what you pay for rings true at the pandemic remodeled Stanford Court for what looks like half the price of the superior Nob Hill hotels (Fairmont, Mark Hopkins) you can stay at the Stanford Court. What they don’t advertise in their pricing is the ridiculous $41 “destination fee” and the $72 overnight parking, for $36 a night you can park at Grace Cathedral and walk over. While the remodel is fresh the hotel itself is not. It’s still the middle child of Nob Hill. For the money stay across the street or up the hill.

This hotel has been renovated from it's former glory. Inexplicably, they painted over the stained glass rotunda at the entrance. We couldn't tell where the check-in counter was and we stood there a couple of minutes before the person standing by what looked like a concierge desk asked us if we needed help. Turns out that was the check-in counter. There are only three elevators in the hotel and they are extremely slow. Problematic in a facility with so many rooms. Once we were checked in and able to get into an elevator the room was very clean and comfortable although there was only one chair to sit in. All of the USB ports and outlets were on onside of the bed. Ice machines were only located at the lobby level or on the 6th floor. We tried to have a nightcap in the bar/restaurant, but there were a very loud and very young group of teenagers raising Caine requiring us to retreat to our room for some peace and quiet. Our waiter apologized for the noise, but as far as we could tell they allowed the kids to stay. The restaurant's breakfast was quite good offering a buffet or ala carte options. All of the employees we interacted with were very friendly, courteous, and helpful. We chose this hotel because it was close to the Masonic Theater, a restaurant where we had reservations, and because of the very good price that was available. The hotel was very clean, but it is a shame they thought it necessary to take down some of the old woodwork and paint over the rotunda.

My overall experience with this hotel was good. However, I did have some issues with my stay. I am not going to go into all the issues as I don’t think they will be relevant to others, but there are some which I will mention. I booked the Premier room which Hotels.com/Expedia market as having a “bay view”, but when I checked in I was given a city view but most of that over looked the hotel’s air conditioning units. I questioned this immediately and was asked was it not a bay view? (Surely you should know your own hotel layout?) I then was told that the system had allocated the wrong room and that sometimes happens. I was informed that no other bay view rooms were available (it wasn’t a bay view to start with). A bay room could be offered but the bed arrangement was different. However, long story short I was given a very good room in the end. I did speak to a manager at one point regarding this who advised me that the Premier rooms booked through Hotels.com/Expedia actually are NOT bay view as standard. I did outline that while this may be an error, this was not my error; I booked in good faith. However, as said above, they were very accommodating and I received an excellent room. Overall, the Stanford Court is a good hotel in an excellent location. I would recommend staying here. I would say the one thing that lets this hotel down is their junior members of staff, who seem very disinterested. One I got the impression the job was more a chore. The managers are more passionate.

This Hotel is very well located in San Francisco as it is just in the intersection of two cable car lines that could take us either to the Fisherman’s Warf (Pier 39, 41) or to the opposite way to the Union Square and Market Street, and to Ferry’s Building. The hotel building is old, as all properties in SF, but it has a modern gymn and a good restaurant. It is also close to the Cable Car Museum. Very good place to stay in SF, especially if traveling with family and kids
