Stayed here for family trip. Couldn’t go in the water, which we knew but prices didn’t reflect that. Our room was extremely dirty they tried to move our rooms but it would be for 1 night and would move again. They came and cleaned and comp’d a night but it still wasn’t clean clean. The hotel is very old and outdated. Not to mention construction next door and now at this hotel, also not mentioned at booking.

The historical beauty and location make this a very nice destination. Nice breakfast, nice loaner beach items. However, it requires an investment of funding and staff to maintain something of this caliber.
The sophistication that would be reflective of the mansion and its history is missing. We were given a goodie bag that was less than what would be given at an elementary school or childs birthday party.
I would encourage more thought into creating a more memorable experience for guests again more in line with the heritage of the mansion. I am in no way suggesting anything snobby or toity, just more thought and adding uniqueness. I run an interior design showroom, it is as much for our clientele as it is for our team members. The style of what we do for our clients and visitors is also enjoyed by our team. The snacks or hospitality items we use are sometimes curated on-line, Trader Joes or local vendors. We select items that are subtle gourmet or handmade items that would not be what you would typically see at a grocery ck-out. Consider upgrading saleable snacks and saleable gift/items, add soft ambient music to lobby/dining area. , It is evident that even in it's current condition and guest welcome bags the property is constantly booked and includes new and many returning guests. I am providing only a constructive critique. In my profession attention to detail, meeting or exceeding client expectations is key. Integrating delightful surprises is nice too :-)

I LOVE this place! Everything about it works for my family. Location was our first draw and since staying there in EVERY trip to Coronado I get to experience all the other pluses.
I’ve stayed with just by myself, with 3 teenagers and even additional family. The 2 bedroom suite was perfect and even allowed us a space to “meet up” when needed.
Guest services and breakfast are above and beyond!
I feel like I have the best secret hideaway.

Location is great…pictures are misleading, the rooms feel more like a motel 6 & ours was very musty & smelled like mildew. The included breakfast was really nice and convenient. I would stay here again with kids, but not again for our anniversary.

Rooms are very dated (circa 1995). Bed was nice and comfy but the balcony is minimal compared to the photo provided. The main house is beautiful and I wonder if those rooms are better appointed. We were in one of the addition buildings and it’s just meh. Breakfast on the veranda was lovely but it’s very much a holiday inn self serve style with cereal, machine pancakes, and paper plates/plastic cutlery (great for kids/families). Biggest perk is the beach chair/umbrella/towel/toy loaners they have but I’m sure other places have this too.

We just needed a basic room for one night. The location of the hotel is great. You can walk to all the dining and shops, and across the street is the Hotel Del. However, the ‘basic room’ is overpriced for sure. We felt like we were the naughty stepchildren put in the back lot (AKA motel room). If you stay in the main building (The Mansion) - it’s a different world! The staff was amazing, though, and we did manage to grab a parking spot right by our room. Beds were comfortable and it was very quiet.

Visiting Coronado for Spring Break for first time since 1992. Glorietta Bay Inn is wonderfully located in the heart of downtown ‘Nado. The staff is extremely friendly, and pleasant. The rooms are clean and comfy. At no point did we ever feel unsafe too. The included breakfast was delicious all three mornings we were there. The fruit was fresh, ripe and amazing. The beach chair & beach towel service made spending and afternoon on the beach in front of the Hotel Del very convenient. And as an “All Day” coffee drinker, the coffee machine was a great bonus…dozens of options, including hot chocolate for the kids. The former Spreckles Mansion, the GBI has a deep historical significance to the Island, and its quieter than the Del. Would definitely stay here again.

I would definitely stay here again with my family. We like the experience of staying in boutique hotels but it is not for everyone. Our room was clean everything worked fine, but people have to remember its an older hotel so some rooms can look a little dated. The location on Coronado Island was perfect with walking distance to the beach and shopping/ restaurants. Im not a long walker kind of person do to arthritis in my legs but the distance wasn't bad at all. We didn't have any issues finding good parking at the hotel. Staff were pretty friendly and the breakfast was pretty good. Almost felt like a bed and breakfast hotel.

This place is OLD. Which would be fine if everything else was top-notch.
Pros:
Parking was easy
Staff was nice
Pool was warm
Cons:
Our place was not 100% clean. My kids found M&Ms on the floor along with Christmas bows under the couch. There was an old towel hanging in the bathroom. The kitchenette sink sprayed everywhere and they left us a dirty dish sponge.
The walls are very thin, so the ppl below were blasting their TV for hours until 1 AM. I called twice to resolve the problem and Christian the manager did help eventually - but why isn’t there a better insulation to alleviate the noise? If you have anyone staying below or next to you, you will hear every single thing. The pipes when the neighbor flushes the toilet, or use the sink, etc.
The breakfast was your typical continental breakfast, and even though we got down there before 10 AM, the staff did not want to help when I asked for more pancakes for the kids. There is not much seating inside, and it was raining the entire time we stayed, so no where to really sit. There are some really old chairs and tables that were dirty next to the kitchen in the lobby that we sat at.
Overall, we will not stay here again.
