We arrived to find construction on both sides of the hotel (we were unaware). The woman at check in was very nice. She mentioned they just got new tv’s and that if it didn’t work, to just unplug it. Our tv didn't work at all during our stay. We are a family of 4 and only had towels for 2. When my husband when to get more, the attendant was stressed and said they were almost out of towels. We weren’t the only ones looking for more.
At checkout we forgot to get a receipt so went back in to get one. The employee was outside smoking and we were told we couldn’t have one because we booked through Expedia. Maybe this is a new rule but it’s never been that way before.

We booked through hotels.com, it did not mention that the hotel was under construction. We paid almost $200 for one night in a room that was dirty, dirty bath tub, dirty coffee pot, dirty pull out couch. The tv didn’t work and neither did the WiFi. The staff was friendly but overall it was not worth the price we paid and was not comfortable for us or our small kids.

I booked this hotel in error. My son was graduating from the Officer's Training School (OTS) in Montgomery, Alabama and he suggested the Holiday Inn Express--unfortunately, I booked the wrong one. I was supposed to stay at the one on Carmichael with my daughter-in-law and my son's father. When I got to Carmichael, they didn't have my reservation. They called this hotel and they said I had to get in touch with Expedia for cancellation. I did that, and they referred me back to the hotel. The hotel said they couldn't issue a refund. I have been in contact with Corporate and they keep telling me that that GM will call me back (within 48 hours from the first day), which she did not. I called again, they said they would escalate the process. I still have not heard from that GM. I called her directly and left a message--she still has not returned my call. I don't understand why she and/or Corporate cannot make the decision to refund all or part of my stay. It is still a Holiday Inn that I stayed at so they still get their reservation cost. I was unable to stay at that hotel as I didn't have a car--I was at the mercy of my family and it was further away from the Military Base. The hotel on Carmicahael was very understanding and helpful--the Prattville hotel has not been.

Nice staff. Great location. A little rundown but being renovated.
Here's the problem...a guest shouldn't have to beg for their room to be serviced by housekeeping. If I wanted to go get my own towels, I'd stay with family. If I wanted to make my own bed, I'd stay home.
It's a hotel. The basic expectation should be daily housekeeping.
Stop trying to use covid to avoid this. You may as well claim it is the 1918 Spanish Flu.
If you are going to be in the hospitality business, show some hospitality.
Update: well, finishing our stay after 4 days. No success in getting housekeeping to show up. There's a ring around the toilet - which seems to indicate it wasn't cleaned well before we showed up. We've just had to go to the desk to get towels every day. Tonight they only had hand towels, no large ones. Oh...and none of the signature cinnamon rolls. There were cinnamon rolls of some kind on 3 of the days but they weren't the real ones and the breakfast is crap overall.
Seriously just stay away.

Check in was quick and easy. We arrived later in the evening. Staff was good. Our room was good. The pullout is small but we have small children. Only minor issue was the A/C unit in room was leaking in carpet.

Check in went well- was woken up for a “false fire alarm” and they couldn’t figure out how to turn off the alarm. 3 hours later it finally stopped. So we had to get our 4 kids up and go outside. No mention of any refunds yet.. there was also no sheets for the couch bed and the room phone didn’t even have a cord and was not working. For $200 a night, this was a rip off. I asked for a refund at the front desk and the worker gave me a card with the managers number. Called and no answer from manager.

The hotel is under renovation. I booked a double queen bed room and pullout sofa for my family of 5. When we arrived to check in the clerk made us wait 5-10 while he finished whatever he was doing on the computer. He then checks us in just to realize they sold out of the double bed rooms. Absolutely the worst service someone could get from a Holiday Inn hotel.

This hotel had over booked. My family was traveling from Michigan to Alabama and when we arrived the room we booked was not available. I had 1 king size bed for my whole family. The manager asked me to contact hotels.com fir a partial refund but that is always a hassle.
