Hyatt Regency Birmingham-The Wynfrey Hotel

The pool was closed and that was not shred ahead of time. We had planned to use the pool quite a bit so it left us with a lot of downtime and nothing to do that wasn’t going to cost additional money. Additionally there was no where for our group to gather, no activities for kids and the restaurant closed each from 11-4.

Check-in was easy and hotel welcomed are fur babies. The rooms were clean and attractive. Lots of good food and shopping in the area.

The hotel closed off the indoor pool after they noticed our family was in there and would not allow us to return. After staying at this Hyatt Regency a few time this appears to a trend when you are there on a slow day. I don’t think they want to service an area like this so they just make up an excuse that there is a maintenance issue. I have noticed the same pattern at other Hyatt Regencies as well, but not at other major hotel brands.

It’s convenient to meet my family in that area!

This was an amazing time me and my family had ever staying together out of town. Service and people made this stay wonderful!!

Front desk agent put my family in a handicapped room when we did not request this (did not know until we went to the room). Turns out this room is worse than the regular room(had to book here previously and had no other choice again this time around because of a family reunion). Shower head was broken so it was leaking at the top. There was no shower door just a curtain that didn’t even go all the way down so water literally went out into the bathroom floor. I’m talking about the floor flooded. It was obvious there were previous floods because the sink wood board next to the shower is damaged and rotted. They tried to hold it together with blue paint tape at the bottom!! We paid almost $300 just for the night and it was equivalent to staying in a 1star motel.

Enjoyed my stay, nice, quiet, and kid friendly.

Horrible service. Too busy screwing up the reservation of the person in front of me to even address me. Stood at the desk for 50 minutes without being helped despite asking numerous times why there were two of them helping one person. My kids fell asleep in the lobby we waited so long. No apologies and then tried to tell me they didn't have the king room I reserved. After saying that was unacceptable they found one. When I finally left they were still screwing up the first guy and the line was now six people deep...at 10pm!

We just needed a bed to sleep in for a few hours on our way to Florida. It was extremely busy upon arrival at 10 pm , The hotel itself was nice and clean , however our bed was horrible . the queen size bed my kids slept in was much better than the bed my husband and I slept in . It was so uncomfortable that my husband got up in the middle of the night and I was up most of the night as well . There was a huge sink hole in the bed. We payed 171 to check in at 10:30 pm and we checked out by 9 am , which would have been fine but the bed was so uncomfortable.
