Lovely family night away with our two teenage boys. Room had two comfortable double beds, the room was comfortable, clean and had a lovely view over the bay. We all used the swimming pool facilities during family swim time and enjoyed the pool. Lovely breakfast with a good variety.

Long family weekend away in Cardiff. Hotel is in a great location - we loved the bay area - lots of bars, cafes, restaurants and shops nearby not to mention some amazing buildings (Millennium centre, the Welsh senate, Pierhead and the little Norwegian Church). The staff were extremely helpful and we even got a free drink in the bar on our first night. Breakfast was plentiful with a lovely view over the bay. We ate dinner in the restaurant on our final night and the food was excellent. Didn't use the spa but the pool was great (along with sauna and massive jacuzzi) and the gym was well equipped. Our only gripe is that our room was like a sauna - the air conditioning seemed to be broken, which we mentioned on our first evening and were given a cooling fan/machine. The thermostat never registered below 23 degrees though no matter what we did and with no other means of ventilation (no windows to open) we were cooking. Other floors had balconies which would have provided some fresh air at least. Would definitely return though - lovely hotel and great location.

We booked it to have a one night family stay and use spa facilities - to our disappointment - when we arrived , we were informed that spa is closed , we can’t use it .. not great for the price we paid and not able to use full facilities of the hotel … very poor..

The rooms with 2 double beds are perfect for families. The location is perfect for walking access to restaurants and bars and space for kids to let off steam. The pool is a winner.

The voco St David's Cardiff is a wonderful hotel to stay at. We wanted a relaxed staycation while visiting family in Cardiff and decided to stay here due to its location which is a 10-minute walk from the Mermaid Quay which is full of restaurants, shops, the Millennium Centre, entertainment venues and a few tourist sites. Parking is plentiful though not cheap at £24 per 24 hours. The staff were friendly upon arrival and check-in was easy. We stayed on the 5th floor and upon entering our rooms were pleased with how spacious and well-equipped they were. The beds were huge, plenty of storage space, a safe, bath robes, coffee machine/kettle, flat-screen tv and comfortable chairs. The bathroom was clean and well-equipped with everything you need. A bonus was the balcony overlooking the bay.
Breakfast was included in the booking and served until 10.30am. We enjoyed the buffet every morning, where there was plenty of choice from fresh fruit and pastries to the full English offerings. Staff were very helpful. The same restaurant served dinner also however we ate in the local area in the evenings.
There is a nice lobby area with comfortable seating, a pool, sauna and spa facilities however we did not have much time to use these, maybe next time.
I highly recommend this hotel for its comfort, cleanliness and relaxed experience. The decor is beautiful, staff are kind and there's nothing like this hotel nearby. We will definitely stay here again.

Not even sure how many times we’ve stayed at the St. David’s at this point, but it is a favorite for sure! The suite was perfect in every way and a lovely place for two parents and a toddler to enjoy some luxury together. Just make sure to ask for a cot because the couch is not a pull-out. 🙂

We were given a room on 1st floor, the size was ok but the furniture was very old, cupbords chipped , bed and pillows were not very comfortable. Bathroom shower head kept tilting towards the screen which meant that the floor would be wet when you shower. It was our anniversary so i request the room to be prepared accordingly but even after 2 reminders it was never done so the front office and house keeping service was below average. Breakfast was good with lots of options. Limited time slot for kids to use the pool.

Lovely views. Mermaid Quay nearby. Shout out for Andrew and Loretta?blond lady always working front of house, all the staff were very helpful and pleasant, they were all brilliant. Food really nice. Pool really clean and refreshing with lovely big warm jacuzzi.
Only thing was children were only allowed in the pool at certain times, not always convenient for our baby wanting to sleep or eat, and it got incredibly busy because they all came at same time so that was a pity, but otherwise really enjoyed it.

Sadly this was anything but a 5* property, and 5* experience. Upon arriving there was absolutely nowhere to park in both the hotel carpark and the ajoining one - something you think the hotel would have thought about.
I booked two rooms for my family - and when checking in at 3:15pm was told the room wasn't ready - It subsequently became ready almost 2 hours later.
Service in the bar area was slow and often you were forgotten - this was duplicated at breakfast where 6 separate conversations were needed to get coffee and milk to go with it.
Had an unpleasant nights sleep due to being placed in room 101 which was right next to the conference room where a wedding was taking place until past midnight.
