An attractive building and grounds in a beautiful countryside setting close to Porthmadog. Good for families overall but the food is mediocre, for example the minted lamb burger was clearly factory-made, dry and with the texture of sausage meet. Breakfast expensive but not exceptional. Some issues too with broken furniture and creaky plumbing.

Myself and husband stayed here whilst away celebrating our wedding anniversary. We visited Portmerion nearby and this hotel was situated not far from there. Staff were very friendly throughout our stay. On our arrival they showed us to our room. The room was huge,as was the en-suite. The room was very clean had all we needed for our stay. We chose to dine at the hotel and we were not disappointed! We both had steak for main and agreed it was possibly the best steak we had ever eaten and was it cooked to perfection. Breakfast in the morning did not disappoint either. Located in Snowdonia the surrounding scenery was just stunning. I would happily return to the hotel and would recommend as a place to stay for friends and family visiting the area. Thank you for a truly lovely stay.

Pretty, olde worlde style hotel. Stayed in room no.1. 1 adult, 2 kids. Nice large room, one double and two single beds. Matresses a bit soft/uncomfortable. Shower sensitive, hard to get right temp, and pressure up n down. No aircon in room, but had three windows to open and terrific views. Huge portion sized meals served in restaurant. Staff all lovely. They serve my favorite Aspall cider on draught - always a good thing! Good car park adj to back door, and free! Beautiful location, a little pricey, but purchased last minute at height of season for a single night stopover. Would be happy to stay again.

Good base for visiting places like Portmerion and our family room was very spacious with large single beds as well as large double . Definitely could do with brighter lights in room as when getting ready we couldn’t use natural daylight as needed to pull blind due to road outside and when dark the lights were too dim. We ate there on the first night and food was lovely highly recommend. Parking bit restrictive when the pub was busy.

We had a very nice family room with great views of the surrounding countryside and enjoyed an excellent evening meal here. All the facilities were fine, the only slight problem was that the inside of the kettle had seen better days, but we were quickly supplied with another. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone staying in this part of Wales.
