Marine Troon

What a place! There’s a good atmosphere building in Troon just now with The Open due in July, and the hotel is no different. Spend the evening on the terrace having drinks in the sunshine, overlooking the 18th and watching players finish on the last hole…outstanding. Staff were very welcoming, attentive and provided excellent service in all areas….bar waiting staff, reception staff, concierge, breakfast room staff. We ate in the casual bar and the food was brilliant! Steak, chips and Malbec…delightful. Would highly recommend this hotel for couples, small groups and golfers. They would clearly cater for families but I’m not sure it’s really suitable for small kids, as it’s quiet, relaxing and quite boutique-like.

I think the hotel is beautiful, i think the rooms are lovely however too small and the doorway leading into the bathroom far too narrow. I do not consider this as a spa destination, it has a basic pool, its for kids, its not relaxing. The food in the hotel is nice but the continental buffet for breakfast is very basic with a poor selection. The staff overall are nice however the door men let it down, they are selective in their pleasantries, based on appearance i feel.

I had an amazing 4 day stay at the Marine Hotel. My room was very comfortable and it had an amazing view of the golf course and across the sea to the Isle of Arran in the distance. All members of staff I encountered we very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The service was first class. I'm a wheelchair user and the staff went out of their way to make sure I was ok and had everything I need. The food was excellent and the room service was too. I highly recommend this hotel even if you don't play golf. There has a lovely Spa area with a gym and swimming pool and there are various treatments and such like you can book. I didn't use the spa while staying, But I did pass through it to get out from the hotel rather than use the steep ramp at the front of the hotel. It looked very nice with friendly staff. I will definitely book this hotel again when I'm next in Troon and will also recommend it to family and friends. Thank you for the wonderful stay a total 5 star experience and service.

Marine is a historic hotel almost on the famous golf course Feel it lacks a professional manager to train many youngsters who are eager but need training professional

The front desk staff and greeters Marvin and Claire we’re amazing. Felt like part of the family. Will certainly be back again!

The staff were fantastic and very helpful. The room and other areas were very clean. However. Our room had an always open fire exit leading to a loading bay opposite the room door, so there was a lot of noise. Likewise, our window was opposite a staff door where staff could be heard late into the night. When paying for anything in the bar or restaurant, a service charge is added, and you are not advised. The pool area was busy with children so I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a "spa-like" pool area experience.
