Holiday Inn Express Dundee, an IHG Hotel

Used as an overnight stay as our youngest child was moving out of halls at nearby St Andrews University.

Nice hotel in a dirty area , no hotel parking only paid by an app costing a lot , got it wrong and received a £60 fine so will not be using it again , parking was a 5 min walk away and with a child and suitcases this is no good

Needed a hotel as family member in hospital and golf was on so just happy to find accommodation. Staff were friendly. Park on 3rd floor of public car park behind hotel and there is a bridge to reception. Took me a wee while to realise this

Staff were amazing and ver6 helpful. We stayed as a big dance group attending a competition and the staff were very patient with the size of our group and age range from small children to teenager's. Would definitely stay again and will recommend. Please pass my apprecation to your lovely staff.

Our family (mum, dad, 4 month old baby and dog) had a lovely week long stay at the hotel. The facilities are great, it's a contemporary building that is well looked after. Our room was spacious, good bed, sofa-bed that we didn't use and good size bathroom. We didn't feel crammed in the room at all. Shame they don't offer room service but we could order food from the bar (good quality, slightly over priced) and the guys would happily arrange it on a tray so we could have dinner in the room. The whole staff was great, very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was basic, the mini croissants were excellent, scrambled eggs too but I missed having options such as cheese and ham for instance. Parking is available behind the building and you don't get charged over night so we paid £3 to £5 per day roughly. Finally Dundee is a great city and worked fantastically well for what we had in mind as we were visiting several locations around the east coast and the Highlands. It's only just over 1 hour from Edinburgh, 1.5hr from Aberdeen and 2.5hr from Inverness and the city is lovely, well looked after and when the waterfront is ready it will be stunning and excellent value for money destination.

The location of the hotel is excellent with easy access for the train station. If travelling by car be aware the hotel doesn't have its own parking but links to a council car park which is free overnight 8 - 8 but otherwise a charge applies. For our stay we had booked a family room. On arrival we booked in, were given a key and off we went. The key hadn't been activated so we trooped back to reception, updated the key and the "manager" then says oh I don't think that is a family room, if you can check and if it isn't we can change it for you. So off we go to this room which isn't a family room and trail back to reception. We were asked to wait in the lounge area while they made up a room and it would be 10 minutes or so. 25 minutes later we enquire when the room would be ready and the key had been waiting for us but they hadn't told us! Not the best start. Other than that the hotel is typical of its type. I did relay our check in issue during check out and the manager on duty that day was mortified, so I guess it depends who is on duty.
